I lived in a house for 3 years up in the hills and met an adult feral male cat, named TAZ, I neutered him. I took in a sick stray 7 month old, named Tanji. They both got to know each other because I would leave a window open for the older feral, Taz and Tanji was only a kitten at the time. The loved each other and played great with each other. Our yard was huge and fenced, a place he lived and play safe. He would never be a full time house cat as he chose to live both in and out. Well we had to move but the owner of the house said he will take care of Taz as I could not take him with me with the possibility of him getting out and getting hit by a car. 5 years later now, Taz is still coming around my old rental and the owner still feeds him. He must be at least 10+ years old since the place that neutered him said he was around 5 years old.
Now I am in a place that can take Taz in. A safer neighborhood even though very far from where he is currently. I am back in a house but this might be temporary as we may move again.
Would it be a good idea to bring Taz here with me now that I am in a house to keep him full times in doors now that he is much much older? Will he, Taz remember Tanji (both males) and get a long (of course with the proper separation and quarantine process)? Or should I just keep him where he is at? He rarely goes indoors because the owner has one of his off springs that is a bully and chases Taz which Taz does not enjoy.
What do you all advise me to do? I just want the best for him. And yes I keep in touch with the owner of the house after all these years and have visited him couple of times and he remembers me.
Thanks
