We are going to McDonalds. I want a Big Mac so bad. I am trying not to eat fast food but I want one so bad and I know I won't stop thinking about it until I get one. I craved them during my pregnancy with Aimee too.

We had McD's this past Monday night, for the first time in I don't know how long. I'm not a huge McD's fan, but it was really good.

When I was pregnant I craved (craved, I tell you!) KFC. Everybody said DS was going to come out brown and crispy and looking like a chicken leg!
I gained ten pounds during my pregnancy and I think what wasn't our son was leftover KFC.

KFC is one thing I just can't eat. It's so greasy. I do like their twister wraps (and now I'm craving one). I like Popeye's Chicken much better. It's so much crispier.

I'm not sure what we are having for dinner tonight. We still have to go to the grocery store but I am waiting for my husband to finish fixing a part on the van.

With mark I craved beans. Haricot beans in any form and later I'd choke myself bringing them up. With joanna it was mangoes and they were out of season.

I love KFC but it feels like death afterwards. My brother and I once, after an episode of South Park, bought a family bucket of chicken for the two of us and to this day, while I regret it, I would probably do it again if I could afford to spend the day lying down writhing in pain.

I'm having pasta with cream sauce, vegetables, and steamed salmon.

We ended up going out for dinner to Swiss Chalet (chicken restaurant). I had quarter rotisserie chicken (white meat) with fries and gravy. I was too exhausted from such a long day and didn't want to grocery shop or cook.

We ended up having the beef with snow peas that we didn't have on Friday night. Over stir-fried rice instead of basmati.

Rick said he's making his stuffed hamburgers on the grill tonight. We're also having grilled potato planks. And strawberry shortcake for dessert. I need to make the muffins this morning before the house heats up. (We use an old Betty Crocker recipe for sweet muffins as the base for the strawberries.)

We had grilled chicken breast with cauliflower, beans and asparagus.

Winchester Winchester I know what strawberry shortcake is but I've never tried it. I think I better put it on my to do list. It sounds yummy. :yummy:

I won't eat KFC either. When I was very young I used to eat just about any kind of fast food, now they just nauseate me, some more than others. Some of them I can't even smell without them making me sick. It's good that I like to cook, have a daughter in Montana that sends me venison every Christmas, I have a community garden plot where I grow whatever is in season and there are lots of farmers' markets year round. Otherwise I would be up that proverbial creek.

Tonight it's LUMPIA, a giant Philippine type spring roll loaded with stir-fry veggies, you can add chicken, thin sliced beef or shrimp if you like. A former boss used to bring them for potlucks and showed me how to make them. They are a lot of work but I make about 2 dozen at a time, then freeze them and vacuum pack them. They heat up nicely in the oven until they are crisp (you might want to thaw them a little in the microwave first), then dip them in  a sweet and sour or orange chicken sauce - divine!  My mouth is watering already. Two of them are just about all I can eat at a time, although I have seen big hungry men (my sons) devour as many as 4.

I don't love KFC anymore. All fast food makes me sick just to smell, I think it's that re-used oil that smells so bad, it breaks down after a few times.

I still eat some fast food, but only certain things.  I still like KFC but I don't get it often (on other side of county).

Got some leftover honey baked ham thawing in the fridge.  I think I'm going to cook some fresh green beans in butter, soy sauce, and garlic.

I can stomach KFC, but I absolutely cannot stomach McDonald's. It sits like a boulder in my stomach, but I still feel hungry. When I was in university, I had a bunch of late classes in the part of campus that had a McDonald's in the plaza and my friends and I would grab McDonald's every Tuesday and Thursday. Where I got the money, I don't even know... Did I mention I put on 30lbs between high school and 4th year? Yikes... but never again for McDonald's. I don't do fast food anymore, but it's mostly because I'm not willing to spend the money than any willingness enduring the aftermath.

Ironically, I decided to get some ideas from a cookbook a friend gave me a few years back, "the healthy College cookbook" which says on it "Being a student is no excuse for living on fast food".

I just finished whipping up garlic and broccoli stir fry with peanut sauce and white rice. I'm waiting for my boyfriend to come home so we can eat together but I'm so hungry now! The apartment smells delicious.

that's part of why i very rarely buy fast food. i think of what the money could be saved for that i'd rather have (home improvements, or gifts for my snick). the other part of the reason is a combination of it's not so great taste and that it's not particularly healthy to eat.

i've planned to have the last of the homemade potato cheese soup and a hot dog (no bun) for dinner shortly.

I totally agree with you. We don't eat fast food because it's too expensive and I am always disappointed . I do however love to buy roast chook ( chicken). It never disappoints.

Tonight we are having a roast lamb with roast spuds, pumpkin, corn on the cob and peas with gravy. Our family favourite.

We are not fast food people by any stretch, but once in a while we'll get it. And then it might be a delivery pizza. But it's not often. Rick wanted McD's that night and that's what he got. I had just gotten home from VA and no way was I cooking anything. So it worked and I will say that it tasted good.

But overall, I'm a cook-from-scratch person.

Tonight will be beef and barley soup from the freezer with leftover strawberry muffins (from the shortcake dessert yesterday).

Being able to pick up pizza on the way home from clinical was the only way I was going to eat some days.  As well as picking up Chinese, or Captain D's, or something along those lines.

I'm doing the same thing I had last night.  The green beans were really good.
