Pulled pork sandwiches.  I've got the roast in the crock pot already smothered in sauce.  All I should have to do is shred the meat a bit.  Yummy!

I think we will have salads on the side.

Looks delish. I want
I oven roasted a whole chicken. Hubby and i
will have au gratin potatoes and steamed broccoli. Mikey had pizza and Liam had the chicken and apples and a few French fries.
It was pretty good, but I wouldn't put the cheddar cheese in the breadcrumbs if I made it again. I'd just put it on like 5 minutes before it was done so it melted. The cheese was just a hard lump on top that didn't melt.

I've just realised that I haven't eaten any meat today. I only have to make dinner for myself tonight so I've decided to go get myself a big steak. I've got mushrooms so I'll do them with a little sherry ( thanks Peaches ;) ) and then I'll steam up some asparagus and broccoli. Yum. I can't wait. :yummy:

Leftovers for dinner tonight. There's some split pea soup for dear Richard and some beef stew for me in the fridge. I'm going to make a pan of corn bread to go with it.

LOL @Tammat!  That sherry trick is one of my favs and so easy.

@Winchester what kind of cornmeal do you use?  I ask since you have a hard time sourcing White Lily flour, and that's the company I use for cornmeal.

Tonight I'm probably having leftovers (split pea soup).  I may fry up some okra too.

Whatever I pick up in town for dinner. I have an ultrasound this afternoon and there is a block party in town so we will head there after to see what's going on. I am assuming there will be somewhere to eat, otherwise I might just go to the mall and get a slice of pizza.

It's a big salad tonight with lettuce from the garden, broccoli slaw, apple, green pepper, fat free feta, walnuts, turkey sausage and finished off with some red apple balsamic vinegar.

I don't understand why everybody seems to be so crazy about chicken wings. There isn't a lot of meat on them but a lot of skin which I don't like. Give me a drumstick or a thigh anytime. Can somebody enlighten me about the merits of chicken wings? Maybe it's the sauce that everybody puts on it?

oh Canada~
I love chicken skin! Some of the sauces you can put on wings are amazing. I love honey garlic and buffalo, but parm and smoked BBQ are good too. You can get or make it with varying spiciness, or a dry rub kind of thing. Part of the deliciousness is the sauciness, and failing that, the fact that so many of them are deep fried. You don't even need to season them, you can just deep fry them and be good to go. Everything is good deep fried.
If you want flavours of good wings, try them from a pub or bar.

No wings for me tonight though. I've got some ground pork defrosting since the vegetarian's out of town till tomorrow... no idea what I'm going to do with it yet. It's been a bit chilly today, so maybe something with chili oil.

 oh I looove chicken wings! i just rub them with olive oil and bake them for about half an hour, then broil each side for 10 min until they're super crispy. so yummy and simple! I know most people like them because they're deep fried or breaded and they have lots of different sauces, but I like them just plain like this. It's all about the crispy skin. It's a simple and inexpensive meal which I usually make about twice a month.

Oh well, if it's all about the skin then that leaves me out. The cats get the skin, I get the meat. And I don't eat deep-fried things anyway so I guess I'm not missing anything. But all of you who like these things go right ahead, whatever rocks your boat is ok with me.
