Not sure yet about tonight. We have to grab some groceries, we'll see then.

Yesterday we went down to watch our grandson play a double-header of flag football. Two hour drive down, two hours watching them play, two hour drive home. We knew there'd be no way I was cooking til we got home, so Rick treated me to dinner at a steakhouse.

Pork tenderloin on the grill with some grilled apples....I'm on an apple kick right now (which is a good kick to be on).

Hubby is having 2 carmelized onion chicken burgers, and I'm having an 8 oz. NY strip that he grilled this past Sunday.  Big salad for us both, boiled baby squash, and for my carb a tiny rosemary and olive oil gf ciabatta roll with butter, and 1 serving See's Milk Chocolate with Almonds.  Yep, still working on eating my Easter candy <blush>.

We had stuffed chicken breasts (with cheese and bacon). I had smile fries as a side and my husband had mashed potatoes. Aimee had a bit of both. I can't eat mashed potatoes since I got pregnant.

Rick has his bowling banquet tonight.....some of you might remember last year when he came home from the dinner a little peeved; there was no dessert. None. Zilch. Dear Richard lives for dessert and he was appalled that a dinner like that had nothing for dessert. He's hoping for dessert tonight; if not, then he's bringing doughnuts home after.

Meanwhile, I'm taking my sister and BIL out for dinner tonight; both of their birthdays are in May, so we're celebrating birthdays. My sister lives for Chinese; my BIL won't touch the stuff. We're going for Chinese, but this particular restaurant also has some American-type food, too, so my BIL won't starve. (We were going for Mexican, so we could get margaritas, but BIL won't touch Mexican either....the only Mexican type food he'll eat is something that I make, like fajitas or enchiladas. I have to make them, though; he won't go to a restaurant and try them.)

I slice sprouts in half long ways and cook them, cut side down, in butter. On med-low with a cover. Everything tastes good cooked in butter, lol! When the tip of steak knife goes into the center of the biggest ones with no resistance, they are done. Right at the end, I'll toss in some chopped garlic and sauté that for about 30 seconds, and salt and pepper. Sometimes, I throw a little lemon juice or white wine in the pan. They get crispy around the edges and soft in the middle. Yum! They kind of taste like broccoli, but with a different texture. My husband teases me and says I negate any health benefits from all the veggies we eat with the all butter I add to everything. His plate is always clean, though, so I tell him to shut it! :D

Tonight, we had bunless burgers with sautéed onions and caesar salad. I'm still addicted to these salads with Marie's caesar dressing and crumbled bacon. I just realized today that all this bacon is probably why I have been super thirsty all month. :lol3:
I don't think I've seen fresh Brussels so could I do the same with frozen ones?

I went out for supper with my 96 year old uncle and my cousin. .her brother's daughter and her boyfriend.
I had chopped liver. Grilled salmon with some sort of sauce and mashed potatoes and ice cream. And a beer. I. Haven't drunk alcohol for years.

We had burgers and potatoes done in foil on the bbq. Good thing we ate an hour ago because it's raining now and I wouldn't want to cook in the rain.

I miss foil grilled baked potatoes.  Such yummy skin...mmmm!

I'm making Tuna Loaves!  It's my first stab at them.  They're in the oven now.

This time it wasn't baked potatoes in the foil (it usually is). I sliced them, added butter, onion and salt and pepper. I love them done like that.

That still sounds pretty awesome, catlover19.  Sometimes the most delicious foods are also not complicated.

Speaking of delicious and not complicated, the tuna loaves recipe from @Winchester was wonderful!

I think you wanted to know the difference between tomato puree and tomato paste, right? Puree is a little thicker than tomato sauce. And paste is almost a solid, very thick. Very tomato-y in taste. I use tomato paste to thicken some stews and sauces and for the extra flavor that paste will give. When you open a can of puree, you can just pour the puree out of the can. Open a can of tomato paste, though, and you'll need a spoon to get the paste out. I usually run a knife around the inside of the can and pull the paste out that way. I think you can buy tomato paste in a tube, too, as well as in a can. I just buy the cans.

Yay!
I'm so glad you like them! They are a favorite around here. I found that recipe in an old cookbook (well, vintage, maybe, from the early 1970s) and use it often. Rick loves them. They freeze well, too.
