Just finished watching The King and I. The final scene always has me in tears. Also the final scenes in Toy Story 3 and The Sound of Music. So what scenes from films bring you to tears.

There are so many but one that comes to mind is called Now Voyager starring Betty Davis who has always been my favorite actress.  People in my genre will remember her well.  I cry often while watching this movie.

Oh yes Gemsgem that made me cry too. I was about 6 years old when I first heard the story of Homeward Bound. My school teacher read us the book for about a month and I fell in love with the story. Even though I knew the ending when I saw the film, the Incredible Journey, back in the 60's which is based on the original book, I still cried.

I'm not a dog person, but I caught Turner And Hooch the other day and bawled like a child.

The one that I remember making me cry is an oldie and that's Old Yeller.  I don't know if you can even get that movie anywhere anymore.  The end where he went out to the barn on the 10th day and his dog was rabid makes me cry, even thinking about it makes me sad.

Amazon has the movie and the sequel Savage Sam together for $8.49. The VHS tape is as low as $1.41.  Amazon is the go-to place for all old movies.

SOOOOOOOO many movies make me cry! SO MANY. haha. Most recently: Hunger Games - Catching Fire. Didn't expect it because the book didn't make me cry (bringing tissues to the 3rd & 4th movie, that book DID make me cry!)

Oh, man. I watched that in the theater with my kids last week, having not read the books. That was rough. I read the first two books last week and rewatched the first movie this week. I can't believe how much they left out or changed between the book and the movie for Catching Fire. I really enjoyed the movie when I watched, but was retroactively very disappointed after reading the book!

I have often found it true that I am disappointed in a movie if I have read the book.  I actually have gotten to the point where I won't pay anything to watch a movie when I have read the book.  I have some of the premium movie channels on cable and will watch them that way.  I am still disappointed but at least I didn't pay extra to watch one.

I read all the books before watching the movies (got on the Hunger Games train late; I only read them a couple months ago) and I was disappointed in the first movie, but while I wish they had included more (LIKE HAYMITCH'S BACKSTORY. Ugh. He is my favorite character, so much love for Haymitch) I really liked the second movie, I thought it was well done. Not as good as the books but they never are.

I like to read the books first, too. But I'd just not gotten around to reading these. I try to be open-minded about the movies, understanding it's impossible to do a direct translation. But it bums me out when they omit key details or make major changes to the plot.

I thought the first followed the book much more closely, but you're right about them completely leaving out Haymitch's story. The second really stepped away from the book, though. I guess to keep the big picture of what it's all leading to more suspenseful for the movie, where it's much more ironic in the book. But it also really broke the connection between Katniss and Peeta as well. That's where I got bummed.
