Hi Guys,

I'm excited ! My small business is going to be featured at the 65th Anniversary CFA Cat Show in Atlanta in 2 weeks. Nov 1-2. The show manager wasn't going to let me in at first, because she already 3 other furniture vendors. However, when she saw how different my designs were from the common cat trees, she called me back up and invited my business !!!!

I'm excited and nervous at the same time. This will be my first public offering of my products, and the first time my competition will be able to see my furniture in person. I've been working on a special Kiosk for my booth that will be different from the ordinary table and sign setups.

According to the show manager this is a large show with almost 400 cats being entered and Friskies is sponsoring the event. She told me that last year over 3,000 people attended ! So I'm a bit nervous.

I have a couple questions for you guys ?

1. If you have been a cat show vendor before, do you have any advice ?

2. If you have been to a cat show, what was your impression of the vendors there ? Was there anything you did or didn't like ?

Thanks so much

That is awesome! I don't have any advice for you - I have never been to a cat show

(But I did notice on your website that you are in Greer - I was married there! And I used to live in Hendersonville which I am sure you know where it is!
Now I live in Fairview, about NE of H'ville.)

What an exciting opportunity! I've been to a cat show as well as a specialty expo-type event, and I like it when vendors accept debit or credit cards. I'm more likely to make a purchase that way! I also appreciate friendliness -- ask people about their cats, you know how we love to talk about our cats!

I went to a cat show today. What I like are vendors who don't force their product, but are ready to sell it or answer questions.

I've never been to a cat show, but I have been to professional meetings with vendors. Freebies are always a draw-even if it's candy or other small things. Since it's near Halloween, candy may be good.

Congratulations!!

I've never been to a cat expo, but I've been to other expos and been shopping before.

My only advice, is be attentive and genuine. And I really really don't like pushy sales people or people that pretend to know everything. But I don't think that will be a problem for you. It is your company and product after all. Are you thinking of expanding...say to Australia?

Hey-- CONGRATS!!!

I have been to many cat shows, I don't like it how some stalls are sometimes un attended so it would be good to always have someone there, Pushy people are a definite no no and free stuff is good!

a video playing of the product or such and such is always a good one too

Good luck and tell us how it goes!

Thank-you guys so much for your advice.

a_loveless_gem... Australia. I would love to ship there, but I think it would cost too much. Would you pay 100 dollars for shipping on a 350 dollar item ? I don't know,,,but I'm going to check into it. I've been there.....Melbourne & Sydney.....its such a beautiful place.

This is exciting and scary at the same time. My wife is going to come with me and show our cat "NALL" in the household class.

Here is a pic of Nall..
