Hi,

My cat Night has had this for a couple of months now (see photos) - these look like insect bites on both his ears. However, they don't seem to be itchy (he isn't scratching), and our other cat doesn't have them. Also, we don't seem to have flees in the house, and there are virtually no mosquitos in this season. Our cats are indoor cats although they have an occasional interaction with stray cats passing through our balcony. The vet we took him to has no idea what this could be (she gave him the anti-flee thingy as well as some anti-inflammatory lotion and antibiotic injection - none of which had any effect).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Poor baby.  If your vet has no idea then i would suggest a second opinion from a different vet.  I've routinely been in the company of 3-4 vets looking at the same case and often see 3-4 different opinions.  Vets also have access to diagnostic manuals with photos to help diagnose skin issues, biopsies can sometimes help and depending where yo live, a cat who specializes in dermatology could be very useful.  If you don't live clsoe to a specialist perhaps your vet would be willing to send photos to a specialist.

To me it looks like it could be something like a food allergy.  Have you ever tried your kitty on a Limited Ingredient Diet?  Such as Duck or Venison or something like that?
