As part of an office decor contest, I made a Santa's sleigh. Some people really liked it and one person outright asked if he could have it after Christmas. It occurred to me that I could make more sleighs next year and throw them up for sale on Etsy. But how much would people be willing to pay for it? Can you tell me what you would reasonably pay for a sleigh like the ones in the pictures? Ignore the snowflakes, they are part of the ceiling decor that wouldn't come with the sleigh.

Very cute. What materials did you use? Part of the price I'd be willing to pay depends on how durable it is.

The sides and reindeer are made of balsa wood (I don't have a jig saw, so the sleigh and reindeer are handcut with an X-acto). Interior (between the sleigh sides, where Santa stands and the gift/Santa's bag are) is made of popsicle sticks. I'm thinking of changing the runners to some sort of easily bendable metal.

That's really adorable! I love how the presents trail behind, that is a really cute touch. The reindeer are really detailed to cut out, wow, you did a nice job. About how big is the sleigh? It's hard to tell perspective from the picture.

It looks very labor-intensive, if you start selling them you might need to add on another person. If you know or can hire someone with a woodworking shop, you could make templates and pay that person to cut out the shapes for you, then you put it all together and decorate. You could buy sheets of thin plywood for the person to use, it would hold up better over time than balsa wood, too.

DId you win the contest?

Oooh, forgot to mention that lurking in the back of our garage I found a disused scroll saw...

Wow, that is amazing, you are so creative!! l would love to have the whole set-up for a Christmas display.

l have no idea how much to say for the sleigh, it's really hard to judge from a computer screen, but if l saw it in a store with the reindeer and the gifts, l'd expect to pay around $20.
