So DeeJay my problem kitty is VERY picky as to what foods she will eat.  She currently is being treated for Chronic Pancreatitis, she has Megacolon and she may or may not have intestinal cancer or inflammatory bowel disease.  I was instructed to put her on a highly digestible diet.  The vet recommended the Hill's Prescription i/d but I'm not too keen on the ingredients.   I am trying to keep the fiber content under 1.0-1.5% max.  Any good foods out there?  DeeJay prefers chunky foods over pate style.

I wonder if home-cooked might be an option for you. I hope others can chime in about canned options.

Boy, that's going to be a tough one, simply because I was going to suggest some of the organic companies, but the ones I know of are all pates.  But going the home cooked route might just work.  You've got Albertson's up there, don't you?  They sell chicken thighs that don't have any additives (like sodium) that you could bake in the oven with a little water, then roughly shred.  Problem is, to get the calcium and other supplements needed, somehow you'll either need to make a gravy to put them in and evenly disperse it all, or put them in powder form on top of the chicken and make sure she eats them or something.   But she could eat up to 15% of her food unbalanced and that would be ok.

Here's how I did a cooked chicken thigh recipe (it's actually Lcat4's recipe)

I buy the "natural" skinless boneless thighs.  It says skinless, but there are still remnants of skin on each piece.  I usually buy 1 to 1 1/2 pounds at a time (6 thighs).  Rinse.  I cook in a Pyrex dish, with all pieces laid out flat at 350 degrees for 15 minutes, covered with foil.  Take out of oven until cooler.  Dice the meat.  Put meat and all liquid (between 1 and 2 cups) into glass bowl.  Let fully cool.  I then add the Alnutrin with eggshells based on raw weight and extra water, about 1/2 cup per pound meat.  I have not been adding liver, I've been giving that separately.  It is juicy.  I portion it out into small zip-lock bags with equal liquid/gravy.  I usually serve it with my raw ground turkey mix, but sometimes I feed it alone, more as a treat.  I give a few pieces meat with appropriate amount of gravy (I'm assuming the Alnutrin is mostly in the gravy).

The next time I made a homemade meal I did beef, and I cooked the liver in with it.  Check out this thread for more recipes:  http://www.thecatsite.com/t/263751/cooked-recipes-thread
