So, l found out today while my daughter was having a routine ultrasound Thursday, they found something unexpected. l won't go into it, but within 48 hours she was having an MRI to see things better. That was this morning, here in the city (she lives 45 minutes away). So she's all done, goes home and finds her bookbag open on the floor (she's a teacher) and her full bottle of ibuprofen chewed through and empty! She has 2 cats and 2 labs. One of the labs was slinking around guiltily, but to be cautious she rushed them both to the vet (my vet). They both had to have their stomachs pumped, and there were remnants of pills in both dogs
so she had to bring both of them to the 24 hour Emergency Hospital back here in the city so both dogs can be treated and monitored for 48 hours. She paid $300 to my vet already and was quoted $2400 for the pair for the 2 days. Ugh.

They just lost their friend and neighbour this month too. Everything negative seems to be happening at once, things have to pick up soon.

Good grief what a rotten month! So sorry about it all! I'm glad she took both dogs in though.

lt's quite worrisome on both counts.

So sorry to hear this.  I hope there is nothing seriously wrong with your daughter.  Glad the dogs will be ok too but such an expense.  What can you do tho, they are all our babies.  Sending lots of best wishes.

Thanks everyone.

The dogs are alive and seem to be well. They'll be coming home later today.

My daughter won't get her MRI results for 10 days, but with Christmas and New Year, it may be longer. l have everything crossed.

10 days?  MRI results here are available within 2 days, sometimes even the very next day.

Aw, how very nice of you guys to remember
.

So far she has heard nothing back. l'm not sure why it would take so long, except that it was done right before the holidays, and l'm guessing someone specific would be looking at the slides, but l really don't know.

She will have to have surgery either which way, but we're hoping for the "benign" word from this MRI.

Thank you so much for asking
