My 19 year old male cat started throwing up his food. I pureed the food and the vomiting stopped. After about 3 weeks he stopped eating one day so I took him to the vet for a check up. They did a blood panel, urin specimen and x-ray.

Everything was good except for the x-ray that showed that he had a lot of stool in his bowls (large and small.)

The vet suggested that I give him Sentry Hairball Relief which has a mild enema effect. He pooped out a great deal of waist and was eating normally again. He is eating a no grain high end food. Unfortunately, this morning he vomited up a small part of his food again so I have started pureeing his food again.

Otherwise he is active, jumping, playing etc. He does not act like a sick cat. Yes, I will contact the vet again but many time you folks have the best answer.

HELP! Has anyone experienced this? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Looking forward to your help.

There can be many different causes for constipation. Did the vet mention anything about megacolon? If he hasn't pooped in 2-3 days you need to take him in to the vet. If he's stopped up he needs to be cleaned out before you can try different solutions, as many of them take days to a week to become effective.
