Hey everyone,

So ive been realizing that my kitten snores a lot in his sleep. Im not sure what could be causing the problem. He is extremely active and loves to jump and climb. Should i worry that he snores a bit when he sleeps? Its a quiet snore. Not super loud but since he lays on my pillow with me i can hear it. It almost sounds a bit like a wheezing snore.

Ritz does this sometimes too.  I mentioned it to my vet and he said it was 'situational snoring', that is, the particular position she was in when sleeping.

As an experiment (perhaps in futility :) ), while he is snoring, see if (a) you can move his head just a tiny bit and (b) he stops snoring.

OTOH:  if he starts to 'snore' while awake or shows any sign of heavy breathing/throat/nose problem, a call/trip to the vet is warranted.

My Rosie can snore for England sometimes. Like Ritz mentioned it's when she's in a certain position, so l gently touch her, and once she stretches out and nods off again she stops

I'm not sure if polyps in the nasal passages can cause snoring but it is certainly worth talking to your vet about, at least at the next regular visit.

Does he seem to have any wheezing or breathing issues when he is awake?  I have a couple of snorers, one of them has Feline Asthma.

No breathing problems while he is awake. I will try moving him the next time i hear him snoring. It seems to happen when he sleeps in the ball position. Lol thank you so much for the responses!
