Is vegetable glycerin alcohol, and therefore, bad for the liver?

I bought my kitty a supplement for his heart and noticed it contains vegetable glycerin. Just wondering if this is considered alcohol and if it would be bad for a cat with liver problems?

His vet looked over my list of supplements/ingredients and said they were fine. But I still worry because I know alcohol is bad for the liver, and I'm confused as to whether glycerin is or isn't by what I'm finding on the internet?

Here is what I found: http://www.vapertrain.com/page/vge talks about how it is classified as an alcohol.  Then I found this where the lady talks about using it when she had severe liver disease  The Accurate Facts Regarding the MEdicinal Use of Glycerin (PDF)   Here it talks about using Vegetable Glycerin in place of alcohol for liver disease patients.  http://www.wildroots.com/herbal.htm  Another site talking about using it for liver failure patients
I am interested to see if you find anything else out as I use Vegetable Glycerin in some homeopathic tinctures that I make for both myself and my animals.  My husband has Fatty Liver Disease and our Naturopath didn't say anything about not using it with the tinctures he recommended for him.

Thanks for all those links. I feel a little better about this supplement now, and like I said, the vet didn't say any ingredient was bad. I'll probably specifically ask though next time he sees the vet, and of course, keep my eye on my kitty with each new supplement I add.
