Hi there, I'm Ros and I live in a rural village called Hebden Bridge in the UK with family (my two twin black girl cats, Pippin and Bracken, and my partner Marcel). Bracken and Pips are so close they act like one cat. They start cleaning themselves at the same time, mirror each others body language, just like bookends.
We live in a beamed apartment at the top of a converted cotton mill. I moved in only recently and this has meant Bracken and Pips have now become 'indoor' cats after being used to going in and out of a garden at will. Surprisingly they love it (I thought they may not) but maybe that's because we've given them 2 tall cat trees to climb on and we play with them a lot.
Until we move somewhere with a garden (maybe 2-3 years) I'm hoping to accustom the girls to walking on leads and harnesses so they can be safe outside. Bracken has just had an eye operation for feline diffuse iris melanoma and I've already added a couple of informative threads about this process and how we dealt with it, and also about reintroducing both cats to each other after 5 days separation.
Whilst researching feline eye melanoma on the net I came across the cat site and gained information from here which has certainly helped save Bracken's life. So when I find anything useful or interesting to post it'll be here. Full of thanks for this site.
