Good morning, afternoon or evening everyone!

What is the story behind your Catsite.com username?

Mine is from a constellation, Cassiopeia. The name itself is from Greek Mythology, of a queen who made a boast of vanity then later is punished for it. I always liked the name, and used it here and there for awhile now. It is something unique, and I always had a little interest in astronomy. So upon registrating, it came to me quickly

So how about you? How or why you chose your username for this lovely kitty site? Something that was simply quick, random and easy, something that was geared to be fun or meaningful, or something that reflected you or your cat(s), etc etc?

I used to be a member of The Slate and people there called me peaches because I'm from GA. It just kind of stuck after that. The 08 was added because one site had a number requirement and that's when I graduated with my first degree.

I am an avid Supernatural fan and have followed this show since its first season. "Winchester" is the family name of the demon hunters in the show. Sam and Dean Winchester.

I have used this alias since July 21, 2009.
I was once known as Leafdapple on my big Warriors rp site, but I got tired of the name so I created Awaiting Abyss out of the blue. Ever since it has been what I use for everything online. It has also been an inspiration for several rp plots and a book that I plan to write.

My username is from a skit called "Kathie and the Blues Guy" from the Canadian comedy troupe The Kids in the Hall.

Here it is, it's pretty funny:
I guess it was about twenty years ago (!) a bunch of friends and I were watching the skit and when the word came up, everyone looked at me, and the nickname stuck, lol.

Growing up, my nickname from my friends was "Dragon" or "Draco", because of my love of dragons. I had dragon everything! Now I use Draco on all forums if its available.

Mine's boring - it's my name.

Well. Andrea was taken, so it's my name phonetically.

Funny little story behind mine.

When we first got one of those bulky computers from my sister, my son & I  didn't go to the library too much so I didn't know anything about how to use one. So my son showed me. We didn't have a username then but I came up with one we both could share so it's ;;

de- Debbie

jo- Joey

lane- our last name

dejolane became  my username and I'm using it to this day.

Sivyaleah is my Hebrew name.  Not sure how it is really spelled, but that's how it sounds.  I guess it's really Sivya Leah since I was named after 2 people (Jewish people are given a Hebrew name at birth, typically after 2 people that have passed on, that were special to the family).

I've been using this name for probably 25 years or so now.  As soon as I discovered online chatting and bulletin boards, this was the name I used.

EDIT: Someone who speaks Hebrew once told me my name translates to Little Deer.  I'm not sure if he had a crush on me and made that up, or it's true but I like it!

My user name comes from a baseball manager whose name is Tony La Russa.  He was the manager of the St. Louis Cardinals and is now going into the Baseball Hall of Fame since he retired a couple of years ago.  I have been following this team close to 40 years and always had a crush on La Russa, hence my user name.

By the way he also has his own shelter in CA and loves animals like you wouldn't believe, what's not to like.

It's my oldest cat's name....Jamaal, everyone thinks she's a he with the name...but I named her that because I worked with a Lebanese girl who's name was Jamaal...and I liked it.  But everyone is always, "oh Jamaal is such a handsome boy"!  My 9 year old daughter calls Jamaal her twin brother, since they are the same age and we all agree she's much like a little boy!  and to be honest when she was a kitten I really thought she was male!  I had to keep checking...

Mine is the extension of both my cats' names:   Mani means 'jewel' in Sanskrit.  So the meaning of my cats' names are 'beautiful jewel' and 'blue jewel'

Mine is a name I've been using on several websites for over 10 years and comes from extending my surname ( Bird) and the fact that I am a mum to 2 wonderful daughters and 5 adorable cats.

I'm a nurse and my first name is Angela.  I go by Angie, but thought Angel sounded better for the second half of my user name.  Nurseangie just doesn't look right.

I thought your name meant you were a nurse for hospice or end of life care all this time
