So from the beginning. My 5 year old cat had been catching his paw on hinges. Thousands of vet trips later we found out he had a condition similar to cat scratch fever that was causing an infection in his paw. I had to get the claws on that paw removed as he wouldn't stop hurting it. He is now on steroid type medication as well as a pill for the cat scratch. This is supposed to be a rare disease. My problem is it keeps swelling. All the vet trips aren't stopping the swelling in his paw. Ive had to wrap it 5 times. Ive had to put a cone on his head so he cant agitate it. Has anyone had similar problems and what had helped?

It does sound awful, poor cat. How long has it been since he had the claws removed?
I'm curious about the disease too, and if it's contagious at all to your other cats.

Is it feline Plasma Cell Pododermatitis (pillow foot)?

Poor kitty. I'm so sorry you're going through this.

It's similar to cat scratch fever but not contagious. I had his claws removed a week ago. I'm hopeful that if I can get the swelling down his paw will heal since he can't catch it anymore.

When getting claws removed does anyone know how long it takes for swelling to go down.

It really depends on what is causing the swelling.  Normally in declawed cats there is minimal swelling, but where your cat has a condition that is causing the swelling it's hard to say how long before the swelling would go down.

My poor cat keeps on getting a swollen paw.  This has happened at least three times so far.  Before that she was treated for a swollen gum.  The Vet suspects she may have Eosinophilic granuloma complex.  Does anyone have any ideas on a home treatment?  We can't afford a $167 Vet bill every other month.

Hi my kitten who is seven months now was playing in garden. On return his front leg paw is swollen and he is walking fine but keeps
Licking it.
Do you think it is a bee sting
He don't seem to be in pain as still walking on it. Should I wait til tommorrow to see if swelling goes?
Has anyone else has this happen with thier cat? Tried frozen peas but he was not having it! Is there any pain relief available for cars even? He seem content but I am worried
