My cat lies with his head hanging off the edge of a table. This must be because he is somehow afflicted. He has done it for years. He has never seemed in great health. I wonder what causes him to do this. He also drools, as you can see in the first photo. Any thoughts?

I have several cats who like to dangle off tables.  They don't have anything wrong with them other than being quarkiy.  Drooling can be normal (I have a cat who drools when she is happy) but it can also indicate nausea and/or dental problems.  I would recommend a vet visit just in case.

Thank you for your response.

I'm thinking it might be hairball related.

Swanie is perfectly healthy, and he like to hang his head over stuff. I don't know about the drooling though.  Have you asked a vet about it?

He hangs his head off because he can!  I know, not the answer you were hoping for, but I couldn't resist.  Somehow, it must be comfortable for him to dangle like that.
