my cats never been a fan of a collar, since its xmas thought we would get him a new 1 all smart with a bell...after about half an hour I found him with it half over his head, half in his mouth. I got it off quick but while I did there was a distinct lack of tinkling. he seems ok and acting like usual...the vet says he should be ok but is there anything I can do to help him pass it easy. im out during the day and don't want him getting into trouble with it when noone can help. surely he can't be the only cat that's done this :s

Pretty much all you can do is wait and look for the signs of blockage, vomiting and not pooping.  Also, watch the litter box.  (Poop patrol)  Look for it to come out.

Most likely it fell off while the cat struggled with the collar in it's mouth.  I would not be too concerned.  Something that hard is very inedible and your cat would not want to swallow it.

Awww, hope he'll be ok! Just a little thought, is it one of the quick-release collars? It can help in future if your kitty tries to get it off again. The elastic ones can cause troubles!

Good luck, hope it will pass through without any concerns.
