Just got back from a 5k--it was a benefit for the Arthritis Foundation.  I love this race, everybody dresses up in Christmasy type outfits.  It's not real competitive (good thing, because I'm slow), there are lots of families, little kids, dogs on the course.  Fun.  This year I was in the top 10 individual fundraisers (well, I squeaked in at #10 but still, I made it!) so after the run I got to go into the VIP tent for goodies, yum!  Great way to start the day.  Now gotta rush to shower and get going with the day, we're having a birthday party for my stepdaughter who's turning 35, yikes, where does the time go--she was FIVE when I met her....

Loved this guy's costume:

Good for you! That looks like a lot of fun. It also looks a little less snowy then here. :lol3:

Congratulations! So how were the goodies?
The goodies were good!  Scones, hot coffee, little egg sandwiches, fruit, cookies...

I did this race last year and was just getting over bronchitis--thought I would be okay but it was freaking COLD.  It was sunny but it was cold and WINDY.  My lungs felt like they were frozen and I ended up walking most of it.  This year it was a balmy 45 degrees with no wind, just perfect.

What a day--did the race, stopped by to pick up stepdaughter's birthday cake from the bakery on the way home, cleaned and prepped for the party until the family arrived at 2.  We had 13 people here for beans, BBQed hot dogs, birthday cake and ice cream.  Got everybody back on the road and then had our 5 year old grandson and our 8 year old "honorary" grandson (grandson of our best friends) here for a sleepover!  Yowza.  But such a fun day with family and friends.

This morning, though, kids are gone, house is cleaned up, cats are fed, and Grandma is ready for a quiet Sunday!
