We adopted a feral baby who has Cerebral Hypoplasia.  For those who have never heard of this condition, its a neurological condition that affects their movements, primarily the hind quarters.  They also shake and bob their heads while trying to eat or focus on something.  Its sad, but Wiggles (our CH baby) is doing surprisingly well and getting stronger every day.

The part that scares me is how often she smacks her head or back into things.  She gets going so fast and bam!  We keep her in a play pen at night, but give her the run of the house during the day.  She seems unfazed and doesn't seem to know shes different from the other cats we have.  She wants to run and play.

I just wanted to ask about our CH kitties and bring a bit of awareness to these babies who are unfortunately mostly euthanized instead of loved and nurtured.

Here is a page devoted to them:

What a very nice thing you did adopted the kitten.  I have a CH baby myself she is about 7 years old.  She too smacks into things, and her teeth have paid the price, she has 2 broken fangs at the moment.  Going to get them pulled when I can.  She doesn't let anything stop her, she is the most determined cat I have ever seen, and the sweetest, I just love my Mini Dee.

I worry about her teeth too.  She is only about 7 months old now, but later when she is bigger, we may experience that problem as well.  It sure seems as tho these cats are more affectionate, loving, and appreciative of the work and effort involved with them.  I wouldn't trade her for all the tea in boston!  LOL
