Hello

For along as my sister can remember, the cat we have adopted from france (our step mum had him before she died from cancer), has been sneezing in quick succession. She said in the morning when he awakens from the night sleep, he will come down and sneeze 30-40 times once per second for 30 seconds.

He went to the french vet, and all is normal. Although he has a weeping eye every so often. Again thats apparently normal.

My step mum spent thousands doing tests on him as he was 10kg, and she kept thinking he was going to die, with her dog who also was overweight and died just before she did.

Anyone know what it could be? The vet said its the "dust" "pollen" and other stuff in the air.

Well its possible it is some weird reaction to something but when you combine chronic sneezing and weepy ears one has to wonder about feline herpes, a chronic viral URI. Not serious per se, and if it was herpes, over time it could be lessened by adding a pinch of L-Lysine powder once a day to her food. L-lysine helps interrupt the herpes virus from replicating, but it my be something else entirely.  It sounds annoying but not dangerous.

Yeah, its just annoying, and I feel bad for him as its not a nice thing to go though, although could be much worse.

He was clear of feline herpes as well as many other things.

Btw, it was his eye thats weeping not his ear.
