Good morning and TGIF! Be careful out there; it's Friday the 13th!

Easy question today. What is a dessert that you must have for Christmas Day dinner? Cheesecake? Pumpkin Pie? Trifle? Plum Pudding?

For me, it's a white coconut layer cake, preferably with raspberry filling in between the layers. But I'd be willing to take lemon filling, too. For Rick, it's usually some kind of cheesecake.

I have to tell you, I got a text from my sister the other night:

"Fifteen days til White Coconut Cake!
" Not 15 days til Christmas, but 15 days til White Coconut Cake. Can you tell we are sisters?

What's your dessert?

My favorite desserts on Christmas is Chocolate Layer Cake (yellow cake) and I would never say no to New York style  Cheese Cake, plus I love a cake with lemon filling.

while I'm not especially a sweet or dessert lover - I could never say no to cheesecake!

Apple pie!  Same as Thanksgiving.  I may go for a pumpkin cheesecake or something along those lines this year too.  Or just serve Christmas cookies since we usually make so many.  Yummy!!

All of those sound yummy! I'm thinking about doing a no bake amaretto cheesecake.

Plum pudding!  It's absolute tradition and must be respected!

I make a wonderful fluffy brandy sauce to go with it.

We don't usually do an official dessert for Christmas like we do for Thanksgiving. We usually make fudge, cookies and other candies such as peanut butter balls. So we just nibble on those for dessert.. and you know Christmas morning.

I usually make no-bake cherry cheesecakes. But I think this year I may attempt to make this chocolate truffle pie:

wow, that looks fantastic! I love chocolate :) We usually have plum pudding, made by my Grandma every year. I don't care for it, but enjoy watching Grandpa light it up!

In the past I would have to say thin layer chocolate cake. Since I am not eating gluten free, who knows, I may not eat any.

That's adorable. My family health and structure being what it is, I haven't had family holidays with various generations in attendance. No parents around lately and no grandparents ever, really.
