It's me again are you sick of me yet?  LOL  So my meezer boy Munchie has been dealing with a respiratory infection for a couple of months now.  He has been to the vet (my dad who is retired) and has been on Amoxicillin for 10 days, just finishing up 14 days of Doxycycline and about to start Sulfamethoxazole/Trimethoprim the day after tomorrow.  I have him on Lysine 500mg per day.  Is there anything else I can do?  If it doesn't clear up after the Sulfa we are going to do a culture and sensitivity.  I know it's an infection as his WBC is elevated.  He basically is a little wheezy (he also has Feline Asthma) and sneezes green snot.  He does what I call machine gun sneezing where he sneezes like a dozen times in a row blowing snot on everything.

Hey there,

Well you have a great resource in your dad!  Does your dad, or his old vet office have a nebulizer you could borrow?  Basically its large hard carrier that's connected to an electric pump and tube and you mix in a nebulizing agent like gentomicin or amikacin with water and it creates a aerosolized mist of medicine that loosens phlegm.

Or you could do the stem bath in the bathroom. Or non-medicated saline drops from the drug store.

Doing a culture or PCR diagnostic sounds viable to get at the root of this.....

Poor baby!!!!
