Hi everyone. I came across this site when I googled "feeling guilty leaving your cat at home" - I have a kitty, Bourbon who turned one in September! He's all white with one blue eye & one green eye, the cutest little thing on the planet. After a day or two after we brought him home we realized he was deaf, but that didn't matter. He's been apart of our lives (my boyfriend and I) for a little over a year now and I feel guilty all the time! We both work Mon thru Fri 9-5 and so he's alone while were gone. We live in a one bedroom apartment or I'd get him a little friend! But of course were worried about 572849 different things when it comes to getting another fur-child!!! So anyway I look forward to learning more and getting to know everyone :)

Welcome:-)  I already met Bourbon in his caterpillar suite and I became an instant fan!  You will be in great company here on TCS, there are many members with deaf cats, and many of them are white kitties just like Bourbon.  There are even some extra special ones with odd eyes too so you should have plenty to share with each other as well as all us other cat crazy people on here.

Have you had a look round the site yet, or found the articles?  This one is about deaf cats and although you may have found all of this out since you have had Bourbon for over a year I thought it would be useful to link.  There are a number of interesting articles in that area of the site.

I'm a small apartment one indoor kitty household so can relate to some of your worries, as do many on TCS and you will find lots of debate on whether it is best to have one or more. For me it depends on individual circumstances but the discussion is always thought provoking.    I hope you enjoy being a member of the site and look forward to seeing lots more posts from you, especially more funny / fun / cute pictures in The Lounge. Oh, and if you haven't done so already you could give Bourbon a Cat Page all of his own and tell everyone about him / his story.
