So It looks like I am going to b stuck in the nursing home for another month or so :( I hate hate hate being here. I'm still no weight baring!! I really despise what happened at times......

In worse news, we had to rehome Smokie - so we are between Cats. Turns out I am highly allergic to cats (after testing) and now we are looking for a breed that might be hypoallergenic.......... The same week was also the week I found out about my setback with my feet, we got rid of smokie- and I lost two family members!

Seems the nightmares are continuing. I woke up screaming last night, thinking I was still trapped in my car and upside down. For some reason! I can't shake this PTSD or whatever it is.They continue nightly.

What's next?

Oh well.................. just letting everyone know what's up. I got the xrays of my ankle, check out the walking hardware store

For some reason i have no option to upload or post pics..

Here is thelink though

Sorry to hear that your recovery is going so slow! :(  And I'm sorry to hear about Smokey. That must have been very difficult.

The xrays look nasty.  My right ankle looks like your left one. I also have a plate and screws in it. I hope you get some good physio therapy once the casts come off because you aren't going to have very much range of motion in the ankles for awhile, at least without physiotherapy.

Will they give you a pass to leave the facility for at least Christmas Day?

No casts, just heavy clunky boots. I feel so stupid , all of this isn't worth it for a glass of water.

Oh and as an added bonus, the pain meds make me puke but I need them to get by

Getting rid of Smokie was very hard, DH brought him for a goodbye visit and I cried for hours and still cry at times. he went to a foster/retirement no kill home we have in the area..

You really are going through so much.

A girl I was friends with in high school had a crushing break to both her heels last year when their home elevator dropped. (She has cerebral palsy; which really affected her legs and walking.)  The recovery has been long and slow but she is getting there!  I ran into her in Target over the summer; I think about 7 months after the accident.  She had only planned to go to lunch so she hadn't brought her wheel chair.  Her Mom was pushing her in one of those carts with seats for bigger kids!
She was like "I feel ridiculous but I just can't walk that far yet."

So hang in there; things will get better.  Its just taking time.  Try not to focus on how long; progress will come.
