tips on how to remove eye crust?

hey everyone,

my little one was just diagnosed with a respiratory infection, he has hard eye crust around his eyes that is pretty difficult to remove, even if i wet a kleenex it still won't come out. I do not want to scratch it off with my nails....whats the best way of removing stuck on eye crust on a kitty without hurting them? any tricks?

Usually soaking a washcloth with warm water and holding it to the eye if it's extremely stuck will usually loosen it up.

I would use those little cotton wool make-up pads.  You can use a new e.g. clean one each time and there is no danger of holding infection in it.  Here in the UK they are easy to get and cheap.
