Remembering Angel

My family recently took in a stray kitten. He was one of three that, along with their mother, have been living behind our house for about 2 months. Little Angel became friendly and we took him in. Two days later he became very ill. I took him to the vet and was told he had panleukopenia. It was too late to do anything for him and we had to have him put to sleep. It was so heartbreaking. It amazes me that we only had him in the house with us for 2 days, but he managed to capture our hearts in that short time. My daughter and I both have cried many tears for Angel. I took a bit of comfort in knowing that at least his last 2 days were spent inside a warm home where he was showered with love.

I'm sorry little Angel's life was so short, it's obvious you really cared, and you really miss him.

Isn't it amazing how much an animal can change our lives? Even those who are not with us that long. I am sorry for your loss-

Oh gosh, I am so sad for you, as little pets work their way into our hearts VERY quickly. You were SO kind to take in that little kitty. I am so sorry you are going through so much, and hope that you know your little Angel is watching and waiting to see you someday again...

I know it took me awhile to get back here, but thank you all for your kind words. Things are just not going our way lately I guess. Yesterday, our pet hamster, Lucky, passed away. We had her just over a year. So, 2 pets in 2 weeks have passed away. It's a very hard time indeed. We didn't even have time to get Lucky to a vet, but we are pretty sure it was just her age and her time to go.
