Hello everyone, Faery here. I will apologize before hand about the lack of pictures (my current computer hates me....).

I am a 30 yr old mother of one (with another "bun in the oven"). I am a certified groomer studying to be a vet tech. I worked at the local Humane Society for several years and many of my crew are from there.

As for the cats there is:

Twinkie (she is my sons cat and is pretty much his safety line when things are rough for him) is a tortie and white small DSH with a half black/half orange face. She was born in the barn of a friend of the family to a feral queen. The rest of the litter sadly perished due to the heat of the summer but she was saved in time and is now around 2 years old. Twinkie has had two litters of kittens (the first time she went into heat was a bit early and the local vets unfortunatly do not spay before an animal reaches 6 months old). Her first litter was born in my sons room and all were adopted except for one that we kept. Her second litter was unexpected as she had an appt to be spayed and he noticed that she was pregnant. Word to the wise, cats are great escape artists and some females don't show signs of being in full blown heat..... Her second litter is currently 7 weeks old and all but two have homes waiting. This litter was born ON TOP of my sleeping son....(any ideas how to get the stain of afterbirth out of a favourite blanket?)

Kali is a grey and white spayed DSH who was given to me by the vet (bring one in for shots, come home with two
). She had a run in with a former neighbour so one of her eyes is a bit iffy. Kali is the typical "grumpy old cat" who seems to have a bubble around her that NOBODY is allowed in if she's in a mood. She is around 8 years old and is a bit bow legged.

Zeus is a rather large orange with white neutered mix of siamese and who knows what. He's called the "cartoon cat" by people who know who due to his long legs and love of puddles. There is another story about him in "Describing Cats".

Star is the kitten from Twinkies first litter that we ended up keeping. She is black with white and has a white smiggen of colour on her nose and trailing down her chin. Her eyes are a dark green. She is 3 months old at the moment and has ended up being a teddy bear for my son, just like her momma.

Moon is a kitten from a cat that used to live in the area and is about 3 months old. I'm assuming that the tom who adopted us is his father. Anyway Moon is mostly white with a few coffee colour tabby patches and teal coloured eyes. He is a drooler who likes to suck on my sons hair when he sleeps.

Stormy is a kitten from Twinkie's second litter who we have decided to keep, partly due to her vision problems. She is a mish mash of colours (not sure how to describe it, but torbie and white is the closest match).

Boog kind of chose us. He is/was a feral tom who showed up a year ago and the other animals just accepted him in. He is tabby and white with teal coloured eyes.

Now the dogs:

Keeker is a 15 year old American Pitbull Terrier (neutered) who was at the shelter when I was first volunteering, and still there when I started actually working there. He was brought in by Animal Control with his brother at around 6 weeks old. He will protect my son and the cats/chickens, but hides behind me if there is something "scary. This dog is terrified of snakes, storms, large birds, large trucks, and the dark. He also lets the cats eat his food, especially the kittens. How's that for the stereotypical "bad pitbull"! (breeds are not bad, people make them that way). Keeker is red and white and weighs around 50lbs.

Sky (Spirit of the Sky) is our female German Shepherd. She is currently 8 months old (spayed) and is mostly black with silver markings on her legs and face. I ended up with Sky when my parents had their two registered GS ("Silver Running Bear" and "Spirit of the Grizzly") She is in that leggy all ears stage right now but currently weighs around 38lbs.

Justy (Justice) is a APBT/English Mastiff/Boxer mix who was dumped out of the car in front of us while driving down hwy 62. She is fawn with a black mask and a hilarious underbite. All head, bug eyes, and adores everything. When we got Justy she was about 3 months old, spayed, and had an ingrown collar and was extremely thin. She is now close to 65lbs and is 9 months old.

(sorry this is so long!)

Didn't want to overwhelm you with all of them in one post...

Here's the birds:
Cricket (female) and Hopper (male) are the society finches. I don't care who small an animals brain is, they can and will train their owners. These lil birds will shake their food bowl if it's empty, knock over their water if it's too low or too cold, and push the empty millet sprigs through the bars (usually it lands either in my coffee or on the kitchen table).

Lil Ray is a dutch bantam rooster who was given to me by a friend who noticed him having seizures then being attacked by the rest of his flock. He is very undersized (about the size of a cockatiel) and apparently has no idea that roosters are supposed to crow in the morning, not at night......
Red is a newhampshire red hen who is the love of Rays' life. She is our egg layer and usually gives one or two daily during the spring and fall.

Now the oddballs:
Tinkerbell is a female arkansas chocolate tarantula who is around 8 years old and about 3 inches leg tip to leg tip (she's small and young but should reach 5 inches or more).

I also have a Jack Dempsey named Gordan, a 10 gal tank with guppies, and a 75 gal with fancy goldfish.

More about me...I am a poet if the mood strikes, love to sing and sketch, and would rather be around animals than people any day. I have a few medical issues that do not define me, but do make me a better person (I think anyway).
My son is currently 6 years old and has inherited my love of outdoors and all living things.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.
