Has anyone else ever had a one year old cat that barely weighs 5 lbs?

We give her designer food - and human tuna, and have tried giving her half

and half, but she doesn't like it.

She's not skinny - she's just so little.   And so, we are looking for a small cat to play with her.

Welcome. There are cats who are dwarfs. Is your vet concerned? How is her health otherwise? My cat mentor taught me a good lesson: as long as she (or, he) is doing the four pe's normally (playing/pooping/peeing/eating), just enjoy her :) and try not to worry. DO watch her weight, being so tiny, any excess weight could cause joint problems (among others).
Oh, and we LOVE pictures!

I haven't personally had a cat that small but I have heard of several.  There is even a breed and the name escapes me now that is normally that small.

One thing though I wouldn't give her half and half.  Most cats, at least adult cats, have some degree of lactose intolerance. That could very well be why she doesn't like it, it may have made her feel bad at some point so now she doesn't want it.   I would also limit the human tuna to very tiny bits every once in a great while as a treat.

I just thought of the breed that is normally that small and it's the Singapura.  The females are normally between 5 and 6 pounds.  We used to have a breeder here that retired from breeding and he got a Maine Coone and a Singapura as pets.  I guess he wanted both extremes in size.

My mom's DLH, Misty, weighs about the same.  There's nothing wrong with her; she is just naturally little.  My cat Speck, on the other hand, weighed about that much at 8 weeks old.  He towered above the other kittens at the animal shelter.

That's too cute!     A tiny cat and a Maine Coone!       Maybe if we had gotten both cats at the same time, the

big one wouldn't be so scary.   But she does had bad social skills.   Walks up to the itty bitty, sniffs her bottom, and hisses.   And yet, there are times when the big one really does want to play, and she follows the little one around.    Even worse than the hissing, she (Twinkie - the big one) growls at Missy (the little one).

What a way to make a friend!

Thanks for input.

My dad has a 9 year old cat who only weighs 5 pounds. She's always been on the smaller side, and goes for routine vet checkups and there is nothing wrong with her. She actually doesn't LOOK that light (she's small but it's not something that stands out to the naked eye), but every time I pick her up I'm always shocked at how she feels like a feather. She's lived for 9 healthy years though and is still going strong! Sometimes they are just little :-).

My sister's cat is about that weight and very small.  One of my cats, Charlie, is on the small side. She weighs about 8 pounds though. Her litter mate Jeffery, on the other hand is HUGE. A very tall and long cat and weighs 14 pounds.

Some cats are just naturally tiny.  My sister has one that barely weighs 5#, I have one who is small but overweight right now she should probably weigh about 6#, but is 9# at the moment.

My Abyssinian is pretty small at 6lbs 2 oz. She will be 2 in April but she's been that weight for nearly a year. Female Abys are usually 6-8lbs, so she's just on the smaller side of average, as was her mother. But she's super active and healthy and eats a LOT (8-9oz a day!) and is maintaining her weight. My vet said she's a good weight for her frame.
