Hi - Just found this site while searching for info as to why my Cassius was so ill from the leukemia vaccine.  He's better today and that was the booster so I've assured him it was the last - ever.  I once had an A & M vet prof tell me that this vaccine was worthless but that was over 20 years ago and since Cassius likes to roam I thought he needed it.  I searched the web after he got so ill and found it could kill him.  Enough is enough.  I have a feral cat colony that I care for and various indoor/outdoor cats that wonder thru here and Cassius.  He's very special.  It's more than anyone ought to handle but all are TNR'd and I do what I can with limited resources.  The neighbors help with food.  And elderly neighbor passed a few years ago.  She took care of the colony.  Guess who she called when she was too ill to feed them?  Guess whose steps all the cats were sitting on the night she died?  She didn't believe in TNR.  She thought they'd leave her.  So that process took a year and half with kittens inbetween.  All that from 2 queens and I got the first queen immediately.  The second was cagey.  She took a year and half to catch.  And all her kittens.  But feral is as feral does and they keep other cats away.  A few strays try to venture in but they chase them off since there is nothing to keep them here.  They stop for food and move on.  Well time to feed them.  I've already learned a lot from everyone.  Thanks!

Welcome to TCS and thank you for helping the feral colony.  Glad you were able to get them all fixed and can continue feeding.  Keep up the good work!
