It's best if they are a little bit older, like 12 weeks.   but 10 weeks would be fine,  especially if they are going together.

The mother cat may miss them at first,  but if you just show her a lot of love and she should soon be OK.   It is harder on the mom when the kittens are younger and taken away.   By 10 or 12 weeks they are usually less stressed,  and  within a few months after that,  they often are totally ready for the kittens to leave.

If the other person can take better care of the kittens,  it does make sense to let them have them,  even though it's hard.    If it is someone you don't know , I would not give them away for free.   because if they are free, they may not value them.

You could get their vaccinations done and then ask for whatever money you spent on that. and give the new owner a copy of the record from the veterinarian.

It would also be a good idea to get the mother cat spayed (de-sexed)  now so you won't keep getting more and more kittens to find homes for.

& welcome to The Cat Site !
