Hello,

I'm female and I'm 22 years old. I live with my husband and our animals.

I have five cats total: Akassa, Mallory, Soren, Kaden and Leyna.

Two live outdoors and are shared by myself and my parents (we both pay to feed them is what I mean.. I live up the hill from my parents so the outdoor cats wander around). I have had them since I was in high school. Its a mother and a son pair. The mother is Leyna. She is a short-hair gray tabby with flecks of ginger in her fur and green eyes. Leyna's mother was given to me by an old family friend who just didn't want their cat anymore.. She had the litter that Leyna was part of and then hit the road (she was always a traveler...). Leyna had the litter that Kaden was part of and then I go her fixed. Kaden is a long hair, black (with a brown hue) tom with yellow-green eyes.    - I wish I had pictures of them, but they only come up to my house late at night if they are hungry.

Three of my cats live indoors.

I adopted Akassa and Mallory together off of craigslist. They are declawed in the front (by their previous owner). At the time that I got them, I was living with my brother who said I could only get a cat if it was declawed because he didn't want his furniture messed up. I personally would never have that done to a cat, so I found Akassa and Mallory and decided to give them a home where they could stay together.

I'm not sure if they are related, but they certainly act and look like it.

This is Mallory.

Mallory is roughly 2 and 1/2 years old now. We often call her Mally or Mally-Cat. She is very shy. It takes her a while to warm up to new people, animals and places. She likes attention, but she will only sit on your lap when she wants to. She isn't very fond of our new-ish malamute... We've been struggling with her for the past few months because she can't seem to adjust to the malamute, but she seems to be getting better... Our new kitten and the cat trees that we got has helped her cheer up a lot.

-The only issue with her that we can't seem to put a stop to is she is pooping and peeing in the bathtub (we keep one of their litterboxes in the giant bathtub that we do not use, but she only goes in the tub.. not in the litterbox). She has done this since we got the Malamute in June.

This is Akassa.

Akassa is roughly 1 year and 9 months old now. We often call her "Kassa" or "Kassie." Akassa is very outgoing and loving. She sleeps on top of me almost every night; it doesn't matter if I'm sleeping on my back or side, she sleeps on my belly or side. She adjusts well to change and it took her no time at all to get used to us or the two new homes (we moved once since we got them). She's a plastic addict. Haha. We have to keep everything plastic away from her or she will chew it.

This is Soren.

He is our newest addition to the family (the pictures are of when we got him at 8 weeks). We got him November 3rd at Repticon. We went there for a Jungle Carpet Python (which was supposed to be my present for not getting a honeymoon), but we found bobcat mix kittens and my husband really wanted one.. So we got Soren. He is 13 weeks old now. He is 1/4 bobcat, 1/4 Maine Coon and 1/2 Manx. Since the pictures he has become more fluffy and his tail has become very black at the tip. He has also gotten very large. He is very loving. He purrs CONSTANTLY. We like to call them a "Purr Thing" as a joke. He is the only cat we have that is actually eating whole mice (excluding the outside cats, because I'm not sure if they hunt or not).  Our original plan was to get them eating mice and canned cat food, but Mallory and Akassa won't touch the mice as of yet.

In addition to our cats we have:

20 mice (I do not include mice that have not "earned" names.. I give names to mice who "earn" it by being tame, healthy, or have an outstanding body form and thus earn a spot as either a permanent pet or a breeder/pet. Either way, mice with names will never be culled.)

Females: Mithe, Myrre, Aylithe, Ffion, Vena, Meriel, Blackberry, Blueberry, Strawberry, Hyzenthlay, Honeydew, Kristell, Triona, Aeira and Nemo

Males: Avicii, Kenichi, Reeses, Rolo and Ritz.

I absolutely adore my mice. Currently I don't have any good breeding mice, so I'm just breeding some pet store mice. My goal is to get better body form, health, males that will live with other males.  I'm hopefully very soon going to get some show quality mice to breed.

2 Dogs. We have Mocha, who is a male 9 year old chihuahua who I have had since he was a puppy. We got Mocha for free because the people who owned his parents didn't know they had a female and a male dog.. I'm not really sure how that happened, but that's what they said.  We also have Ruuqo, who is an 8 month old Alaskan Malamute.. We've had him since he was 6 weeks old.

5 Gerbils (I do not include any babies that I am not keeping). My gerbils are: Ivy (female.. mate to Paku), Paku (male.. Mate to Ivy), Amek (male, brother to Amarte and Aithek), Amarte (male), and Aithek (male). I am an American Gerbil Society registered breeder. I breed for health and color.

2 Rats. Raiko (neutered male.. Brother to Raimei) and Raimei (female).

4 Degus. Keeka and Kipcha (females). Khuno and Kuzco (males).

2 Syrian Hamsters. Akka (female) and Appa (male).

1 Western Hognose: Lithir (male).

That is it for my animal family...

Other interesting things about me is I spend most of my time researching animals. I have adored all animals since I was born.

I love to read. I'm a huge fan of Warriors by Erin Hunter (for those of you who like cat books). I'm also a fan of various other animal-related books.

I play Mabinogi, an MMORPG game that is based on Celtic Mythology and has an "anime style" character design. I met my husband on this game. I have been designing and running role play websites since I was 12 years old.

That's all. I'm hoping this forum is friendly. Its so hard to find friendly forums. That's why really the only forum I check is the mouse forum :/

Oh what a big family you have! It might take quite a lot of work keeping everyone happy and content. Sorry to hear about the litter box issues - have you had her checked out with the vet. It's probably behavioural, as you mentioned that she started using the bath when the newcomer arrived, but you never know. When I introduced the new cat to the family, there was hell to pay - I found a pheromone product called feliway that really helped us. The two cats are now best friends, despite their awful introduction period.

You mention that you are breeding mice? And you also mention that your beautiful bob-mix is eating mice? Do you breed them for eating purposes as well? Or do you purchase frozen mice? Sorry if I misinterpreted, but I been quite passionate about feeding my cats as naturally as possible. They're on a raw food diet (at least the one is - the other is a real princess hold-out), but I have always been interested in learning about people who feed their cats mice, or allow them to hunt naturally in the fields.

Otherwise, hope you have a great weekend :)

Well that's the funny thing. She just doesn't like the malamute. The new kitten she was very happy about. I have taken her to the vet, because I thought it might have been an infection. However, we switched cat litter a few days ago and she has been using the litterbox properly since. Hopefully it stays that way.

I do feed some of the mice I breed. I prefer to use my own mice rather than buying some because then I know the mice live a good life while with me, they get the proper diet, and they are put to sleep painlessly.

Sorry for the double post. I'm on my phone so I'm not able to edit my last post.

I was going to add- Yes, I'm starting the bobcat mix on a mouse diet. I'll also be feeding him EVO canned food with that.
I want to get my two indoor girls on the same diet, but so far they have only turned their noses up at the prey.
