Hello

I need to know the smelliest food as my cat has a mild cold, but wont eat food I would consider not smelly enough. He has stopped eating wet food.

He is eating dry, treats and tuna.

Anything I can get in the UK would be great.

Did you try heating up the wet food? That makes the smell stronger. You can also drizzle the tuna juice over the wet food. You can make tuna water by soaking a can or pouch of tuna in a cup or two of water in the fridge overnight. Strain, and then mix in the tuna water to the wet food. You can even heat this concoction up. Or what about crushing the kibble or treats and putting it on top of the wet food?

Also, you can put your kitty in the bathroom and run the shower on hot, to create a "steam room" to help relieve congestion.

It all smells like canned chicken (or tuna) to me.

A sprinkle of Parmesan cheese might be smelly enough. Cats usually dig it.

So, I get a tuna steak, and boil it, the water will turn into tuna water to put on their food?

My cat hates cheese, in fact he wont drink or eat any milk based products.

When he was a kitten, he stopped drinking his mums milk at a young age, so I took him in, with bollo who showed him what to do, they are now best of friends and do everything together.

You can certainly do that. It's probably cheaper to just soak canned tuna in water. You could speed up the process by boiling it. And fresh tuna would be healther, surely. But if he's eating the tuna, tuna-flavored water drizzled on his food will likely get him to eat it (if it's not too dilute). Obviously let anything boiled cool first. ;)

When my kitty was sick I fed Friskies Ocean Whitefish. I could smell it all the way across the kitchen and down the hall. (Don't feed fish more than once a week once your cat returns to health.)
