Hello Ritz,

Thank you very much for the informaion - about NON-clumping litter (I didn't know that) and about some added nesting/birthing boxes and other information. Elsa Gloria, the mother, she eat/consume the urine and feces and lick there and all over the kittens. I have one of the "old" litter boxes rather Close to the box with the kittens, but she doesn't use it. Then I let her go to the "old Place" litter box, and she use that litter box. I have bought a Little litter box with a not high wall (for kittens they told me in the shop).I'm waiting for the kittens to open their Eyes (it's 7 days now; perhaps they have already open the Eyes, I must have a closer look on them).

All the best to you, family and your cat (looks cute).

Happy New Year!

Today the6th of January the kittens opened their Eyes. Sometimes I pick them up in my hand and I look in their Eyes, the small puppies. Now that they can see, they look at me surprised. I put them down to their Mummy, and she lick them at once. Perhaps she wants to put the Mother's scent back on them again. Mother Elsa Gloria have trust in me, and that's Ok. They are much bigger now (11 Days old).

Oh Peter. You still haven't made an appointment to have him neutered. Not fair on him or mama.
Congrats though.

Hi,

I must take the decisionl next week. I know that I must do it.

Anyway, now I let them meet bf and eg, but I look at them all the time. But eg is funny. She like to look at me, and then she runs as fastest she can (and she is very fast) to Another area of the apartment. Bf runs after her, and I poor peter try to follow them. But when eg stop - Always at the same spot, she defend herself. If bf try something, she attack with one or two jabs in bf's face. James Brown sang: "It's a man's World..." But in my home it seams that: "It's a ladie's cat World, but it would be nothing without a man or a boy." Bf, the father is not yet one year old.

Must add that eg is so perfect as a mother. It is Always Clean in her bed with the kittens, and she behave in the best way (eating the poh-poh). And let the kittens eat/drink. I must say that it is a very nice experience to see what's happens and to see the kittens grow.

For heavens sake keep them apart so he can't chase her round, and get him castrated as soon as possible.  Sounds like she wants nothing to do with him at present and he might be trying to get to mate her.

Cats operate through instinct and self-preservation. Your male has no consideration for the feelings of EG - all he can see is a female cat who is now available to him again as a mating partner. Even if she is not yet in heat h e could breed with her, and you would have the whole thing begin again. Please do get him at least fixed, but keep them apart for several weeks afterwards as he could still be fertile. For her sake and the kittens she is now looking after, please do this. He will not realise what has happened, he will simply not have those feelings towards her any more and may even become more affectionate.

Tomorrow at 8 am Benjamin Franklin will be neutered. I don't like it, but this is neccessary; I Believe. The kittens are taking a Little walk around the card-board box. Elsa Gloria is behaving, I must say perfect, as a mother of four. Perhaps I keep the grey one. I don't know. The fur is not so short. Both mother and father are short fur cats.

I wanted eg to have kittens once. But it make no sence if I let the kittens be neutered and spayed. I want eg's and bf's genes to continue in the "cat World". Am I stupid? Both cats are moggies. But both cats are eg = rather Beautiful, but small in size. To be small is nice for city living cat owners, I suppose. And bf is a rather big athletic and I must say - good looking cat. But very important is, that both cats are so nice. They are both so nice to adults and children and to themselves. And bf - only when I look at the cats - is also licking the kittens, and cleaning them to avoid poh-poh. When I bought bf, the former cat owner told me that cats didn't have feelings for other cats, but I am positive the eg and bf love each other. they lick and have nice feelings for each other.

As I am a new owner and have no experience, I must also listen to advices here on the catsite, Reading on the web, and Reading cat books. But I want that eg and bf will give cat-genes to the cat World. I hope that the grey kitten will grow up and be similar the the GreyBlue English Shorthair. He or she is so cute. I will publish some new photos in the next few Days. Now day after day the kittens expose some personal properties, and I love it, and I love cats (of course).

Congrats on the kitties but what I can't believe is that you have ignored the advice of multipul people in the know and continued to allow BF to chase poor EG around like people have said mating for the female is quite painful and thats all BF can think about is mating. Good on you getting him neutered but I can not believe it has taken you this long to reach what would seem to be an easy conclusion. It will make BF a clam and friendly kitty once his hormones come to a normal level and he is sterile. It will also stop him spraying and EG wont have to keep 'punching' him the poor girl clearly does not want to be mounted every minute of the day so I suggest once the boy has had his snip done you keep him away from eg for 7 weeks as told in previous comments as he could very well still be sterile for up to 7 weeks. Adorable kittens and please do make sure they go to excellent homes that will keep them forever.

Both cats and baby looks cute.

I will be - and I am alredy - very observant about eg and bf beeing together. The bad thing is: eg and bf run so fast. They look at me, and (to be quirky) and run away fastest they can to Another room.

As I have read in a cat-book and on the web, I buy today: milk maizena (majs) flour, suger from grapes, butter, eggs. Put 5 dl milk,1-2 table spoon of majs flour, 1 tablespoon of suger from grapes. Put it on the stove so that the laktos will break down annd continue to stir.

When it cools down put the butter into. When finger Cold put the yellow from one egg. and stir well. Then put fish, meat (for hamburgers) or something that the kittens/cat like. Ok?

This recipe does not look balanced or like what a kitten would need to me though I am in no way a nutritional expert for cats. I think you are best of searching the site here for articals on the best types of cat food for kittens and maybe asking advice on your recipe in the nutrition forum. Good luck.

The grapes alone is highly problematic.  Cats should NOT eat grapes, ever.  They are toxic to both dogs and cats.

Can't imagine either why giving a cat corn starch is necessary (maizena).

I agree with StephieDoodle - this recipe does not sound appropriate at all.  Please a new thread asking for advice on weaning kittens.  We have many members who can help you with this.

Thank you for info about grapes. It is important to know. Although I meant - it was written sugar that is made from, I suppose, grapes. I don't know the English Word for it. In Swedish the name is grapesugar.

Anyway I have ordered a start-kit from a famous brand (RC Startpack).

That's dextrose or glucose.

:vibes: for BF's operation tomorrow, but please see to it that EG and all the kittens are spayed/neutered. With all the homeless moggies out there, there's absolutely no reason to "continue" their genes!

If you think about it, the genes of both your cats are already out in the catworld, as you put it, and there are plenty of moggies out there, brothers, sisters and all other relations, all already breeding. Please do not add to the problem. Get your kittens neutered and be a responsible cat owner.

As for loving each other, of course they do, but for cats 'loving' and 'mating' are completely different things and do not go together. They will continue to love each other after being neutered, probably even more so as the aggressive hormones are taken out of them. Cats have friends and enemies in their world just as we do, and you are lucky that your two do get on so well together. It does not happen in every household.
