Hi, Ok, thst's sounds fine. So bf will not jump up into my bed and bite me in the throat until I die - just like the lions do on the Savannah. Just kidding of course. But I feel much better knowing that bf Will not hate me. Thank you for the information. Finally I will put up some photos later next week. And i hope that you do the same. I like your cats.

I will come back to this thread when news or kittens are born (hope so). Until then I want to inform about a two part video on Youtube that I like very much. It is about what happens when cats live free somewhere in this World. One of the sadest video I have seen, is when a Group of scientists left a cat in antarctis when they left their HK. And to see how this cat was trying to find food and some not so Cold Place, to try to find Comfort. One day he/she was disappeared. Anyway, this two part video from "Animal Planet" with host D. Attenburogh is: Cat Documentary: City Of The Wildcats (Part 1) - and part 2 - in the city of Rome.

To all members on catsite and to all cats - Merry Christmas!

Im sure others on TCS will have so much more info. But long story short, mating is a very painful experience for female cats and pregnancy and birth are stressful painful and they consume much of her rather than having any benefits whatsoever.
You breeding her is fullfilling your own wishes and pleasure to probably have kittens around for a while. While she does the hard for you.

I will quote what my vet said about neutering my male fosters: "you think he will even noticed he was neutered" he will only know it when he has got the balls. In other words. "

Just relieve yoy cat from that misery. One can't analyse cat behaviour and emotions from a human standpoint.

I can't imagine letting my car go through this..... and this "at least once" story is so human and not feline... it is not like a woman who needs to experience motherhood at least once!!!

I hope you do what is best for them.

  God Jul  !

Do read those links I gave you earlier  if you haven't yet.     You may not need to know everything in there,  but it is better to be prepared.

and since you and EG are friends with a vet ( from Bengtson's family) ,  it would be good to  ask if you can call for help if needed .    Or just make sure you know where the nearest 24 hour vet hospital is, in case you may need to take her.

Make sure the kittens stay warm!  When they are born they need to be dried off quickly and kept warm.  they can get chilled quickly.   I hope you will be able to be there when she has them.  That is one reason it is important to know when the mating happens. at least then you have a better chance of estimating the due date.

In the afternoon the Christmas Day, the 25th of December, Elsa Gloria gave birth to, from the beginning 3 Little kittens. Then after one hour or so there were 4 kittens. Elsa Gloria is almost black. She has a Little White spot on her chest, and the hansome father (or male), Benjamin Franklin, has a masculine face and is a hundred percent black cat. The kittens are - two are black, one is dark grey and one is medium grey. Now the Young mother cat is behaving like a mother. I will publish some photos one of the coming Days. They are cute like all kittens. I will come back with photos. Christmas greetings from us to you!

That is so exciting. Was she good when having her babies?
Have you named them or are you waiting to see what sex they are.
Lovely babies.
Keep daddy away from mummy. You don't want her to get pregnant again do you.
Enjoy and send pictures immediately.
:woohoo:

I promise to send photos soon. Today the medium grey kitten shows some black stripes on both sides. The former owner of father Benjamin F. told me that he had genes from Norwegian Forrest Cat, so we will see what that kitten will look like. anyway, I know that they are moggies all of them, but I am sure that they will be nice looking cats and kind cats.

What worries me is that Elsa Gloria's rear breast, tits (or what it is called) are big without any fur around them. And the kittens doesn't drink milk from them. They ignore them although they are the biggest two tits. I hope that it's not cancer or "milk-stop"? Any advise? I will call my vet after New Year and ask her about this.

Further more I now understand why cats gets spayed and neutred. I'm leaving Benjamin Franklin and Elsa Gloria to meet eachother from time to time and have fun with eachother, but BF seams only interested in one thing about EG. He wants to have sex. So I must be very careful, and the only way to have a normal BF is to let him be neutred.

Right now (haven't seen it Before (?)) I see above this reply a "button" for image and video. Ok, now I understand that it is very easy to insert a photo or a video.

Why are you waiting until after the new year. It might be infected or not but check it and get him neutered as quick as possible.
Breast is a better word. Tit is crude.
They sound so lovely. Besides the one are they feeding well and is she keeping them clean.
Keep us posted.

Ok, I will call the vet after New Year. Thanks for the information. I find the mother cat EG is ok now. It's hard to say (?) But I Think so. She is a tough Little cat, and sometimes I let her play with her boyfriend Benjamin Franklin. And if bf gets to Close and put his nose in her 'back', she punch him with her front legs in his face just like a little pro boxer.

Mother cat is licking her kittens also in the "back" and eat it up. I read that it's ok in a catbook. The 25th of December they were born. I say: "Open your Eyes now Little kittens!".

Today bf was so happy, he jumped and run all over the apartment. So he is ok too.

Please Peter, get him fixed as soon as possible. You can't watch them 24 hours a day. Heaven forbid he should get her pregnant again.

I have male and female cats in different areas in the apartment with locked doors. When I let eg visit the bf's area, I look after them. They run away - thinking "let us run away from that tall two-leged animal" and I run after them. They are so fast runners. I can promise that they are so fast, but they have no chance against me (at least I hope so). And if, as I mentioned, bf try to jump over her, eg just give him a punsch in the face. I also take bf in my arms (the big cat) and show him the offspring of his behaviour. He looks surprised. But born in the 27th of February 2013 he is still a rather Young cat. But he knows what he wants. He like eg that's for sure. There will be no more kittens - that is my assignment.

I saw the news on TV yesterday evening. It was about a cat owner in the South of Sweden who didn't take care of her cats. They lived in misery. But it was not catastrophic. Anyway, I saw one of those poor  cats, and he looked similar to my cats. After I bought eg, I read about the Burmese cats and of other cat breeds (eg's mother 100% Burmese, Father 75% Burmese). Then I read about Nicky Horner, Kentucky, who finally succeded to bred an American shorthair and a Burmese to develpop a 'Black Panter'. One of the cats on TV was black and had yelow gold Eyes. There are so many black panter cats in this World. How can it be like this? I know that the American Bombay breed has a, how to call it, flat nose. But the Brittish Bombay has not so flat nose. And my mixed breed eg and my bf are similar to the Bombay breed. But how can the yellow, gold, copper Eyes black cats be so many? I cannot understand that (?) I know from Learning about cats that the black cat colour is a dominant gene. But how can the black mixed breeds Little panters be so many? That is the question.

I'm not a matcho man, and I look at my cats. Ok, now they both have given to the cat World four Little cute offspring. Anyway I find it hard to let bf to get neutered and eg to be spayed. But this I must do. But it's hard. Why do I Think like that? It is because I am like most of the cat owners in the World, thinking that my cats are so nice looking cats, and if they are neutered and spayed, they cannot give birth to any more Little nice cats in the future. For me it's a hard decision, and I know that there are so many, many cats around the World with no permanent home.

I saw Another TV program yesterday. It was about the charming, intelligent dog expert Cesar Millan. He marched in Washington D.C. and founded an organisation concerning to take care of abandoned dogs. I hope that for example the also charming, intelligent cat expert on TV, why not Jckson, The cat from hell - Tv show will do the same for cats. Why? Because you and I know that cats are fantastic!

Please get your male cat neutered ASAP, *and* remember that as with people it takes some time for him to become sterile.  Remember also that cats can mate in the blink of an eyelid, so personally I would keep them completely separate for now.

I agree 100% with Shunra. Think about a woman giving birth every 9-1/2 months. How do you think she would look and feel? Now think of a cat giving birth 2-3 times a year. Horrific. As a man you can't appreciate this froma woman's point of view and regarding bf you are thinking as a male - not a cat. You feel how awful to neuter your cat
He will never be able to bring more babies into the world to carry on his name etc. Believe me cats do not think like that
All it will do is make him less rough. That's not be bad is it? And 90% he'll never spray in the house. But if you keep them separate without fixing them they will be very unhappy kitties indeed
She'll start calling which is loud and tthat does not mean that she wants babies. It's just what she had been programmed to do and he will get so frustrated he very well might start spraying
I suggest when you take eg to be checked you take bf to be done. The sooner the better.
Peter. Do think all of us here who know quite a lot about cats would tell you to neuter if it wasn't in the best interests of the kitties?
Listen to us and carry on loving your kittens.

All I know about kittens is from one case where my friend took in a stray cat who was pregnant, and I witnessed the birthing and growing proces.
Up until around four weeks old, the mother cat must stimulate (lick the kitten in its private parts) the kitten to go to the bathroom. She'll actually consume the urine and feces, I believe. The amount won't be a whole lot unless they get diarreha or other illnesses, and that's a whole different problem/thread.
Meanwhile, although the mother cat will (hopefully) be doing a LOT of nursing and a LOT of eating and a LOT of sleeping (she'll be busy!), she will remove herself from the kittens and go use her normal litter box.
CAUTION: kittens until around three months old need a different type of litter than the mother cat. You should use a NON-bentonite clay type (NON-clumping) type of litter; otherwise, the kittens, being curious creatures, may try to eat the litter. The litter box for the kitten can be any type really, just make sure the sides are really low cause a kitten can't climb that high.
Regarding nesting/birthing boxes, put several out in different places, lined with lots of layers of soft towels and blankets. Have some extra on hand, because the afterbirth is messy and you'll want to remove the soiled blanket in time for any other kittens.
