I'm another nibbler. I listen to a bit of everything. There aren't really any exceptions, mind you it does have to be a pretty nifty rap song for me to listen to it. Country has to be pretty amazing for me to listen to without grinding my teeth. Some favorites are:BNL, Alanis Morrisette, Led Zeppelin, Beatles, Paul Simon(with Art or without), I'll give anything a shot that has a empowered woman idea. (I tend to shy away from the word feminism)
80's music (the Cure, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, Howard Jones), dance (mix CDs and Sunscreem-O3), recent stuff (Evanescence) and Celtic rock (Brother, Off Kilter). Most of the stuff I've bought recently has been Celtic rock, and from bands I've had the chance to hear live. My favorites are Brother, Wolfstone and the Glengarry Bhoys.
I too like a lot of different types of music. I love people who use their voice as an instrument - Billie Holiday, Nora Jones, Anita Baker, Ella Fitzgerald, etc. I enjoy gospel and classical (Handel's Water Music is my absolute favorite piece of classical music). I am a big Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel and Fleetwood Mac fan. Early R&B, etc. Like I said, I'm into a lot of different types of music.
I listen to all kinds of stuff (the Blues is my favorite). The cats' favorite is classical, though. My mother plays the piano, and when I was little she had an upright that flipped halfway open on top for better sound projection - the cats would sit on the half-lid of the piano & roll around on it while she was playing. They loved being up there & feeling the vibrations - so much so, that they would occasionally fall into the piano through the opened side!
Sid, I love the oldies too, even though I wasn't around then, I've always said that I should have been born a generation earlier......maybe thats one reason my hubby and I get along so well, he's 11 years older than me........hmm......
