I've been feeding Robin for about three years now, ever since she was a kitten. For the first two years she didn't come on heat or have any kittens but this year...BAM...three kittens in April and just as I'd managed to get them spayed and neutered...BAM......another three 10 weeks ago.

I haven't seen Robin for over a week now. It's not like her to miss a meal and she's not shown up on the kitty buffet trail cam I leave out every night either. I think something must have happened to her.

Luckily the new kittens knew which house to go and cry outside of when they started to miss their Mum. I've managed to bring them indoors and they're living in my laundry room for the time being. They were all tested for FIV and FeLV today and had their first vaccines. They've been promised a place with a foster family in Tokyo in January, but I'm going to try and find homes for them before then if I can.

Look at these little faces, who could resist them?

This little girl is called Bee.

This one is a boy, we call him Pierrot.

Another little girl, Tabi. It's hard to get a good photo of her, she is still a bit shy.

Do you think it's worth trying to introduce them to my other cats? Or do you think they'll be safer and happier confined to their own room? As I'm only going to be their Mum for just over a month I don't know what's best for them.

I would let them stay in their own room, if possible.  Why put your cats through the change when it won't be that long?

I have six, very tolerant cats who know when the porch door is closed, we have company.  They seldom object but I do notice a ramping up of bad behaviors (usually the alpha male harrassing everyone else)

They are adorable!  Bless you for helping them.  Hope Robin comes back and you can get her spayed.

They are just precious.  Hopefully you can find homes for them soon.  I will send good vibes that Robin reappears too.  Maybe she is hanging out with George!

So fat, fluffy and adorable! Hopefully they do get homes before fostering. And just my two cents - since it's not a single kitten and they have each other for company, I wouldn't put them (or your guys) through the stress of integration since they'll be moving on any way. Unless you know your guys usually handle it well - then I might consider it purely because you can tell potential adopters that they do well with other cats (although most kittens do anyway). That's why we do try that often when we have fosters.

Keep us posted - they're truly sweet!

Hi,

Thanks for all of your posts. I really hope Robin shows up again too. I've moved my kitty buffet and trail camera to a different spot tonight, a boat yard that I've often seen her hanging out in. I tried all summer to trap and spay her, but she wouldn't cooperate. I got her mother, sister, aunty and her two daughters but I couldn't catch Robin.

And thanks for the advice about introductions. I guess there is really no need to do it as they are only here for a short while. I was worried they might be getting bored in the laundry room so while all the other cats were out this morning I let them come into the big front room to run around and climb the cat trees. They had a blast!

Some good news! A lady who lives just a few miles from here is interested in Pierrot. She asked me to send her a load of photos of him and is coming to meet him on Friday. She's looking for another cat to keep her three month old kitten company. Let's hope she decides our boy is the one.

Update.

So, I found a new home for Pierrot. His new Mum seems really nice, she already has two older DLH and she wanted a friend for the little calico kitten she found in her fields, so she took Pierrot. She's been sending me photos and messages about his antics all week, he's settled in really well.

Now I just have to find a home for his sisters. Hopefully someone will take them both, as they're really attached to each other. We're offering to pay the vet bills to have one of them spayed if anyone will take the two of them. Fingers crossed!

And Robin, the mother showed up again. The kid who lives next door to me feeds her as well and he spotted her on his way home from school. He filmed her with his iphone because he knew I was worried about her, bless him.

She's lost a lot of weight but she seems OK. She's outside my door waiting for breakfast every morning. Got my trap all scrubbed clean ready to get her used to being fed in it again. Hopefully I can get her trapped and spayed before the end of the year.
