Hello

Basically, when I was young I put drops or something as a child, now I have olbas oil to help me breath when I have a cold.

I have cats, which will stay with me when I am ill, but on my bedding I plan to put olbas oil on my pillows. Anyway simple question is this safe, I think I might be coming down with a cold...

I have a headache and my ears are warm - thats my symptoms before I get a cold.

Hi, thank you for thinking about your cat before you head off to use this remedy.  I have certainly used it myself but only for basic inhalation and not put it on covers where my cats could come in to contact with it, or on surfaces they way lick or contact and lick off their fur.  I don't know exactly what is in the oil but thought it might be helpful for you to have a look through this thread as it is pretty comprehensive and certaily taught me a lot:

There is other informaiton on things that can be harmful to cats in the Articles section on this site which you may also want to take a look at.

Sending good vibes in the hope that your early symptoms face and come to nothing other than perhaps tiredness resolved by sleep.

How about putting the Olbas oil onto a hankie and then putting that between the pillow and the pillowcase. That way you'll get the benefit of the oil without the cats being able to directly lick the area that has the oil on it. Btw are you thinking of Karvol capsules from when you were younger? They were a little capsule that you snipped the end off and placed on clothes and pillows to help you breathe.
