It's always something....

My brake light in my car is on and has remained on.  It always seems something happens close to the holidays.  I would rather my car not start then the car not stopping when I hit the brakes.

I have an appt. today at 1pm at Pep Boys, they are only a couple of blocks away.  I will not drive the car far until I know if I need new brake pads or just brake fluid.  I am also due for an oil change so I will get that done also. Hopefully it won't take very long but I'm bringing a book with me just in case.

Has anybody had the brake light come on and found it wasn't serious.

I had the same problem with my car turns out there was a short in one of my tail lights which caused the whole system to malfunction. One trip to the junkyard solved the problem.

My ABS light has been on for over a year.  Both our cars are 97 so always something needs to be fixed.  Both our cars need more work then they are worth.

Not a brake light. But, if it's any consolation, Clarence's alternator light is back on again....probably because the rodents were chewing on his wires again. He's due for an oil change, too, so I'm going to have them look at the light while I'm at it.
