Hi, I don't have anything to add to Draco's advice, but wanted to welcome you to TCS.  I hope everything goes well for your mama kitty and her kittens.

Hi!

Do you know or have a close idea of when she got pregnant? A pregnancy will normally last 63 days (9 weeks).  Much less than that and the kittens usually won't survive; much more and a vet should intervene to get the kittens out.  This is the best way to know if a birth will or should be soon and whether you should be taking action or worried.

If you have no idea when she became pregnant, then you will want to be looking for signs.  One is milk discharge from the nipples.  Some others are 'nesting' or setting up a place to have the babies, either decreased activity OR restlessness.  Some lick the vagnial area or yowl like they are in heat.

Keep us updated.  It does sound like her time may be near!

If she got pregnant on the 1st October she was due on the 4th December - 6 days ago.  If she is pregnant she is due any day now, assuming you never let her out.  If she hasn't had kittens in a week I'd take her to the vets.

Personally I would have had her spayed almost as soon as I got her.  You don't say where you got her from, but it's best to assume any rehomed female cat is unspayed unless there is clear evidence to the contrary, and if she is as young as you think and had been spayed the shave would have shown.

If you are SURE she was already pregnant when you adopted her.  I'd actually go to the vet and get her checked out now.  70+ days is when you should usually see a vet.  The vet can make sure the babies are still alive and if necessary induce the birth. I personally would not let it go on for longer.  By my count she is 71 days pregnant (minimum) today and that's no longer normal. If she were mine, I'd take her to the vet for sure. ALways best to err on the side of caution with queens.

Glad to hear you plan to have her fixed asap.

Yes,  you need to really try to figure out when you got her,  and if it was by Oct 5 and there is no way she could have got pregnant since then, you need to get her to a vet tomorrow ,  because that would mean she'll be at least 68 days pregnant tomorrow   and the longer she goes past that,  the more risk something  will go wrong with the kittens,  or that they will just grow so big  they won't be able to come out via a natural birth --  especially considering she is so young.

But IF  you think about it and it turns out someone in your family remembers she  was in heat,  and got outside and probably bred sometime AFTER that,  just figure out when it was,  and calculate the date from there.   As tulosai said,  usually a cat pregnancy is about 9 weeks.

This page has a cat pregnancy calculator http://www.bengalpedigrees.com/pg.htm
