Hi everyone,

Well I'm back.  Spicy is back at the vet.  She was making progress but now she seems worse than before.  She is not walking at all.  she is moving her legs but not getting up.  She is sleeping all the time.  She is on amoxicillin and prednisone for another 7 days.  She was eating but did not eat anything on her own yesterday.  I did feed her some pedialite, babyfood and warm water and some water and Karo Syrup per the doctor.  She acts as if she is having problem swallowing now.  I'm so scared she will have to be put to sleep.  It's just me, my 10 year old daughter and her.  I just want to help her.  She does not seem to be in pain.  She is does not meow when you touch her.  She does purr when we stroke her.  But she just doesn't seem to have any energy.  Please PRAY for SPICY.      

I'm so sorry she has taken a turn for the worse .  Did the Vet indicate what the issue may be???  This is dreadful news.

I'll pray for your little Spicy, and for you to have the strength to face whatever comes up. Lets hope it's just an infection and she will get better, I do remember when my cat got one and had many of the same symptoms, he wouldn't move at all. Make sure she gets all her medications. They do have an antibiotic injection now for cats that can't swallow, it's a little pricey at 50.00 but was a Godsend and lasts 10 days. Good luck, and bless you for caring so much!

Hello everyone,

It's a parasite called Hemabartenella.  She is in the hospital and getting antibiotics and fluids under the skin.  The doctor said as of now she is no better but no worse.  He stated she is so weak and could pass away.  She is such a strong kitty.  I pray she can hold on.  Please keep praying for SPICY.  We love her so much.  I am so scared and depressed.  Not really sure what to do or how to feel.  I am just so upset.  PLEASE PRAY, PRAY, PRAY.

Awww, you and Spicy have my prayers. I'm worrying about my cat too right now, so I know how hard it is. I've had trouble sleeping, and then when I fall asleep he's the first thing I think of when I open my eyes. I'm praying that your kitty pulls through this and that everything turns out okay. <3

As for paying for all this, my vet gave me info on Care Credit.

Ive been going through something with one of my cats for the last couple of months. I was so upset at first because I didn't think we could afford the vet bill....it was astronomical and has only increase.
Someone else had mentioned CareCredit here. I applied online and got approved literally 2 seconds later. Thank goodness for that!
Please try that if money is a concern as it was for me. They have a no interest for a year which is great.

Well, Spicy made it through the night.  She is a little better but no worse.  PLEASE KEEP PRAYING!

I am sorry to say we lost Spicy yesterday evening.  She hung on as long as she could.  Spicy fought a good fight.  Both my daughter and myself are just devastated.  Please keep us in your thoughts.  Thanks to all of you for your support.
