Okay, I know this sounds a little flakey, but bear with me.
I've had a cardiac pacemaker for 9 years now and just had it changed out with a new one. They let me keep the old one and I was looking for someplace to donate it becasue I've heard that some animal doctors and University Vet schools could put it to use. I don't want it to end up at a landfill when someone's pet could have a few more years with their family. I'd heard on the Paul Harvey show several years ago that there were some places that could use them. I called U.N.C. and they'll take them if they are a Medtronics, but mine is a Siemens brand.
It's still got some battery life left in it and I just hate to see a devise like this become useless. The FDA won't allow another human to have it for obvious reasons, but if someone is willing to use it in an animal, they can have it, provided it get's used and not ended up in someone's collection of oddities.
