He is known as Izzy.

After beng dog-people for many, many years, Rick's sister and BIL have three cats in the house and those cats have turned their people into cat-lovers in no uncertain terms. They just love their furkids and his sister often calls to tell us about some thing one of their kids did. They're pretty much inside cats now, too.

Well, there was a cat that started coming 'round about a year or so ago. He'd come visit with their cats; they were indoor/outdoor at that time. Izzy would come up on the porch and visit with the other cats. Then he'd eat dinner and leave again. Sometimes he'd come into the house, but then he'd want back out. He wasn't neutered and so he would often disappear for days on end. But he always came back. He had been living in an old garage in town and when the garage was torn down, the cat had no place to go. Izzy is a real sweetheart; he loves to plop down on laps and he's always good for a cuddle when we go up to visit. I fell totally in love with him, but well, we have seven now. And I didn't want to upset the cart with Mollipop and Muffin and I didn't know what it would do to BooBoo, who is our resident male (and he likes it that way).

So Rick's sister and BIL decided to take him to the vet to get him caught up on any shots he might need. And while he was there, he was de-balled, too. And then they brought him home. And he decided to stay.

He had still been going outside, largely for his bathroom ventures, more than anything. But since it's gotten really cold outside and we've had snow, Izzy decided that enough was enough. They got a litter box for the downstairs and Izzy has no problem using that one now. He thinks it's way too cold outside for kitties and he's not going out there if he can avoid it. Most of the time, he's stretched out in front of their wood stove in the family room.

Rick's sister just sent us this picture and I had to share.

Welcome home, Izzy! (Mollipop says, "I have another fur-cousin!")
