I can't believe I missed this thread!

I love black cats. My father is a real cat lover and he always has black cats too. I remember a whole succession of Dusty's and Blacky's and Sooty's when we were kids.

Here are two of mine.

This is Carpet. She's about 18 months old now.

This is Jiro, he was born this April.

Both of them were stray kittens that I found outside. They look very similar in spite of the fact that Carpet has long fur and Jiro's is really short and silky. They both have quite pointy faces, short legs and little stubby tails.

I think they had the same grandfather, most cats around here seem to have come from a big tuxedo tom that only had half a tail.

They're both very affectionate too, that seems to be a family trait along with the stubby tails.

No, they're both the same yellowy colour. In this picture he's sitting by the window with bright sunlight streaming in, so they look odd coloured.

I'm taking him to be neutered tomorrow. His first trip to the vet so I hope he behaves himself.

:cross:
It took me two goes to get blighty into the cage and he yelled the whole way. I walk. The vet said she heard him s mile off
:lol3:
I dread the time I have to take him again. The first time wasn't too hard as he was so small he went in with whisky. It I'm sure you'll be okay.

Looks like these guys are eating on the counter - not a good idea, it invites counter surfing, better get them on the floor before they develop that bad habit
Since we live in a motorhome and have quite limited space, I would rather them eat there honestly, than trip over either of them in the galley floor.  But, in fact, they mainly eat in the floor.  This just happened to be a photo op

Big brother was never deterred by foil, scolding, or physically taking him down every time he steps from the couch onto the counter.  It doesn't bother us -- just means a little extra cleaning daily.  Now if they start drinking our coffee before we get up .. that's entirely different.  LOL

They ARE gorgeous, both of them.

Drinking coffee, yeah right. Well, as long as they are not asking for lasagna like Garfield

My 2 eat on the counter when they have their treat and whisky does when I fill his bowl before I put it in its place. It doesn't worry me in the least. Blighty has been known to take some laps from my orange juice. I still drink it.

What a stunning boy Rhodey is. And those eyes!

Bet he was toasty warm soaking up all those rays on his black fur while he was laying there too.
