I keep seeing people say that you should take the cat to the vet immediately for an ex-ray.I have this problem right now and dental floss doesn't show up on ex-rays.You need to watch for signs like throwing up and give 24 hours because the vet can't do anything before that. Then they will examine and I'm not sure yet what else I'm hoping my cat passes it.It defiantly is frightening waiting.

Hi pinkladee.  Am I right thinking your cat has eaten some dental floss?  How old is your cat, and do you know how much your cat ate?

I agree it is horrible waiting these things out, I thought my boy had eaten something the other week and had to keep an eye on him for 24 hours, and go through his litter every time he used it, before I could start to relax.  There are plenty of people here who know what you're going through and how you feel, some have cats who eat harmful things regularly and I really feel for them.  Stay strong.

Sorry,  I've been out at work and then out out, social commitments and not been able to catch up on the site.  How is he doing?  I forgot yesterday but the quantity reminded me: my boy managed to eat about 12 " of wrapping ribbon a couple of years ago. I didn't know he'd managed to bite a big bit off the role.  Thankfully he chewed it up pretty well on the way in, got a sore belly a few hours later and then sicked it up along with some half digested bisuits.  Never thought I'd be as happy to see him being sick as I was that night.  He wasn't even a year old at that point .- he used a lot of lives that 1st year.

Hoping your guy is looking OK and it's not caused any problems.
