Wow! I've never started one of these before!

I am sad about the Cubs and Marlins game. Not that I have anything about the Marlins, but the Cubs are such a baseball institution, and I have a cyber friend in Chicago who has season's tickets. So I was cheering for her too.

My cat woke my up by purring really loud in my ear. What a lovely way to be wakened up, even though it was too early.

It is supposed to be windy, but not rainy today, which means I can walk to a lunch meeting. Yay! I really love the autumn, I can get out all of my cool blazers and turtlenecks. And my makeup doesn't melt and fall off my face when I go outside.

Good morning Sammie!

Its so darn cold here - too cold for my liking!

I just realised this morning that Kahu wakes up just as the alarm goes off - our alarm makes the lights flash and the bed vibrate - so its perfect that he wakes at the same time as us.

Last night we played volleyball - it was more of a practice session, but we played against the Division A people and that helped us to get some practice.

I am also trying to organise a surprise birthday dinner for my friend - her boyfriend decided that he would go on vacation with his friends the weekend of her birthday - nice guy
so I thought, why not surprise her!

Have I mentioned that it is TOO cold??? I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Hi everyone! It's my first time posting in a DT (wish me luck!)

I agree... it is TOO cold! I almost had to bring out my big winter coat this morning... I really don't want to have to do that... ever.

It really was sad, the Cubbies losing. My fiance is originally from IL, so needless to say, I live in a "Go Cubbies" home. I'm still irritated at the fan who stuck his hand out for the 'in play' ball on Tuesday night... it probably cost us a trip to the World Series.

My cat wakes up with the alarm as well! If I decide that I'm not getting up as soon as it goes off, Marshmallow will bit me, continuously, until I do. It's kind of cute... kind of irritating... espically at 630am... okay, so it's more cute than anything.

There are only 8 weeks of class left, including finals week. I will be so thankful when this semester is over, although I do say that every semester. The past few weeks have been espically hard. Since I'm planning my wedding, I've been putting everything else off... espically homework... which isn't good. I think that I've FINALLY gotten myself caught up. Now I just need to try and get ahead.

Anyway... thanks for reading! Hope you all have a wonderful Thursday!

Morning Everybody!! This is my first time posting in the DT, too. We finally have cooler weather here in Florida. This morning, it was 50 degrees instead of 90º and steamy.... Hey Keylle, how cold is it over there?

At 3:00 this morning, my cats were making so much racket I finally got out of bed... I grabbed my crutches and slowly limped into the living room to see what was going on. When I turned on the light, I saw three frogs leaping for their lives, trying to get away from my cats. I managed to capture all three and I set them free without waking up my hubby... but I was WIDE AWAKE...I've been up ever since, LOL!!

As far as the Marlins go, all I have to say as a native Floridian, is WooHoo!

Frogs in your house???? Sure Kev wasn't staying there?

It is now 37 degrees here.
But I have the heater going so I am snug as a bug in a rug!

Good morning all! Kim, how is your foot doing? I hope it's not bothering you too much.

For me, there is no such thing as too cold (ducking any snowballs thrown). I love curling up under my down comforter (I even had my window cracked open last night). Plus, Ivo cuddles in bed with me more when it's chilly.

Not too much going on today. Work, work, work and then CSI tonight. Sigh. I need a life.

Have a good day everyone!

Movin' on up!
For all of you freezing people, it is 66, right now and we're heading for a high of 95 today.

Thank goodness, its ALMOST Friday! Tomorrow is payday and we're going down to Tombstone, this weekend.

Hi Everyone,

It is cold here too. I'm the only one in the office today. It is sure to be boring, except the phone is driving me nuts. How dare it ring when I'm trying to post on TCS.

My sister just called. They are releasing my Dad from the hospital. They still don't know what the problem was for sure. If it was his heart or his kidneys - we don't know. The Dr. wants to see him on Monday. He looked good last night and is getting fiesty again. Thank you to all of you who sent well wishes his way.

Have a good day everybody!

ROTFL, Keylle!! Kev would have had a conniption had he been at my house and witnessed the frog fest in my dining room

Christy - OMG...my foot! Honestly, it hurts like heck. I had no idea the pain would be this intense. Another thing that hurts are my arm pits...I am SO not used to crutches, LOL!

Well, you answered one of my questions without knowing I'd asked them, Kim. But aren't you NOT supposed to be up and around chasing frogs just yet? Aren't you supposed to be taking advantage of these few days, you know, to do things like wake hubby and get him to see what's causing the commotion?

Jillian - when's the wedding? There's a thread that has fallen into the past somewhere in this Lounge - something like Post Your Wedding Pics Here. Make sure you find it and post!!!!! I think we all love weddings.

Cindy - it's early to start in every day making us jealous of the gorgeous winter weather you have there!

Nora, I've been away, so I'll have to go poking around to find out what happened to your dad. I'm so sorry. It sounds like whatever happened it was completely nervewracking. I'm sending BE WELL prayers and vibes his way.

Christy - Ivo and CSI sound like a wonderful life.

Kellye - that's really sweet of you to do for your friend.

And Sammie5 - Gary and I are both from Chicago originally. He actually spent part of his childhood about 12 blocks from Wrigley field. He ditched a lot of school (at 7) to see the '69 Cubs play. He was so angry with them back then for blowing making it to the World Series. He was, of course, rooting for the cubbies - but I think he truly believed, as he said, that if the Cubbies win the playoffs to go to the World Series, the world would end. So I guess in an odd way I'm glad they didn't win.

I'm spending a little time catching up at TCS after having been down with my folks while my mom had minor surgery. She's doing fine. After this - I'm going to spend a lot of time e-mailing out the announcement about the launch of the Stray Pet Advocacy site. I know it was actually several weeks ago, but it is National Feral Cat day today, and I thought that would be an appropriate way for me to celebrate.

Have a great day everyone!

ROTFL - Laurie, Would you believe my hubby slept through the whole event? No I am not supposed to be on my feet right now but once I got started saving the frogs...I couldn't stop. I probably scared the frogs and my cats because I was hopping around on one foot trying to be a hero, LMAO!!

Oh jeez, thanks for reminding me! I actually saw the banner on SPA yesterday, and thought "Gotta remember that's tomorrow". I guess tonight will be a good time to work on the Ferals and Disease article I'm planning
(Laurie, check your email for details)

Ack! Off sick today. Just wanted to hop in and say "hey". Kim - stay off your foot! I was on here for a bit last night posting pics of my babies. Finally. I am so bad at posting pics. Hope everyone has a good day. I'm going back to bed with a cat and a hot water bottle. Then tonight it is Survivor and CSI!

Hope everyone who's down feels better soon.

I also grew up in Chicago and ditched school to watch the '69 Cubbies (Earnie Banks, Ron Santo, Kissinger). Days of Jack Brickhouse (when Harry Carey announced for the White Sox). If the Cubs and Red Sox got to the World Series, I do believe that the world would have ended on the spot.

So, was Billie Goat's curse upon that poor fan that tried to catch the foul ball? And has he moved out of town yet? Inquiring minds wish to know.....
