Hi everyone I am new to this forum and would really appreciate any help on this subject. A little over a month ago, my sister was visiting and rescued this little cat (not kitten anymore, just small) from a fox. Apparently, she was hanging around the house a lot. . And very thin. So she wound up becoming ours and we named her Sasha. Like I said, she is a small cat and her stomach is protruding like a pregnant cat's would, except she is not very big, so I don't expect more than one or two kittens. Her nipples are enlarged and pink.. But she has been acting strange the past 2 days.. meowing like crazy.. laying on her back, very restless. It's it possible for her to go into heat while being pregnant? I would be extremely surprised if she wasn't pregnant because of her nipples, stomach and behavior. . Even though her stomach is small compared to some pictures that I have seen. Any input would be great, and if you have any questions feel free to ask away. I plan on scheduling a spay ASAP after delivery. I had to cancel the immunization and spay appointments I made when we first took her in because her nipples were pinking up.

They can behave like in heat, while pregnant.  They can possibly even BE in heat, as it happens rarely but not unique, they do have two different litters simultanously...

So, with any luck, there is no real problew with this particular behavior.

You decided to let her bear forth the litter, althoug spaying that early in pregnancy is easy and no big deal, at least, medically speaking.

You didnt went for a check up and deworming?  THAT should be done.

Continue to report and ask!

Good luck!

Is it also possible she's ready to deliver? That also sounds like some cats behave before they deliver.

Did you cancel the vet appointment on your own or was that advice from the vet? I would think that getting her in at least to be checked out - particularly if she is pregnant - would be advisable.

Thank you for your replies. . She was able to rest from 2pm on until 6pm, but now she's back to the rolling around and meowing. .I haven't seen any discharge. As far as the vet is concerned, I was told by the receptionist that giving her shots during pregnancy was not a good idea and to save money, I did not need to come in until after the pregnancy unless there seemed like a problem, so I did a lot of research.. The reason why I canceled the spay is because I could not bear to put her through that, for personal moral reasons. I got pregnant at 19,definitely not planned and refused Abortion for the same reasons, but I do understand why some people would opt to do it. I plan on keeping one kitten and finding good homes for the others, I refuse to give them to just anyone..I do not want the same thing that happened to poor sasha to happen to them. I wish I could afford to keep them longer and spay/neuter them all, but I live on social security so it's just not possible. Since we have re - homed sasha, she has been content as an indoor cat (thank god) and hasn't been outside since, so luckily I have an idea of how far along she is. The only thing, is that her constant meowing is driving my other female (fixed) cat crazy lol! So at night, I keep her in my room with me (and she keeps me up) but it's okay because she likes the comforting and company, it helps calm her down.

We all do choose. Done is done.   :)

Did you do a deworming on your own?  Or is she still undewormed?

Thereby not said I want to to rush to nearest pet shop and buy the first dewormer you see...   Many OTC dewormers and deparasiters  arent no good, some are even dangerous.

So you must have guidance, from the vet, or at least google.

I have a pregnant feral and she has been behaving the same way the last two days. She just lays on her side most of the day meowing and sticking up her hind leg or running around peeking in corners and rooms she's never been in. She's really restless. Idk how far along she is but I assume she's starting to prepare for labor
