When feeding your cat wet food, do you only use one  brand of cat food?  Do you mix them up?  I have my cat Louis 7months on GO! by petcurean .  it is made here in canada.

It is a good idea to rotate different brands and flavors for a few reasons. Different brands and flavors offer different nutritional profiles and also stave off boredom from eating one type of food forever. In addition, variety helps prevent allergies from developing. Finally, you really do not want a cat to only eat one brand or flavor in case of discontinuation of product or product recalls.

When I go to the pet store, I tend to buy a few of whatever is on sale, and a few of the specialty "actually has fish chunks in it" kinds. I get a bunch of different flavors, and types (the patte kind, the chunks ect). My cats seem to like a little variety.

I feed more than one brand, because you never know when one might be unavailable because of a recall or bad weather. Sometimes you also have to switch to a prescription brand for certain health conditions, so it's best that your cat doesn't become too fixated on one particular brand.

Our last cat ate several different brands in a daily rotation. Our current cat has allergies as well as digestive problems (IBD) and eats 4 different flavors of a prescription brand, plus three of one commercial brand that he can tolerate, and home-cooked food about three times a week.

If you do add another brand or two, do it slowly, i.e., start out by just adding a spoonful of the new to his old food, gradually upping the amount over the course of a week or two. Too fast a switch could cause diarrhea, though that really depends on the cat.

I agree rotation is best that way you can ward off finicky eating (somewhat lol) by giving them a variety of foods to eat.

We have him on three different types of wet food now. I still give him dry only at night before I go to bed. I will keep some dry around but once I know what he likes it main diet will be wet. Thanks for all your help.

He is on Now fresh by petcurean.  It is made here in Canada.  Grain free and no rendered meats or by products.  He was on Iams.
