Wanted! TNR Feral Cat Colony Success Stories
Because Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is under fire in several States, I would like to collect testimonials from feral cat caretakers regarding their successful work implementing TNR. The testimonials will appear on The Animal Spirit site, with author receiving full credit and retaining copyright of the story. You could submit a couple of photos as well, though that is not mandatory.
You don't have to write a masterpiece -- just a paragraph or two about the colonies you have worked with, or are currently working with, is all that is necessary.

I don't know if you want to use documented research in your quest to help save TNR programs under fire. I do hope that posting here will result in a few stories for your site, there are a number of members here with success stories in caring for a colony (or colonies) of cats.

But if you do want to use research, myself and several friends from this site put together a site for people looking for resources to help them fight for low-cost spay/neuter programs or TNR programs in their communities. We took the "appeal to their purse-strings not just their hearts" approach, just being practical.

Alley Cat Allies (www.alleycat.org) does a great job providing advocacy materials, and I'm sure you've used the resources on that site. But we've been working to fill in the gaps, so to speak, on some of those arguments people make against TNR.

Anway, the site where you might find a lot of helpful reference material or research to support your efforts is www.straypetadvocacy.org .

Do you have a timeframe for submitting stories? I'm in process of documenting the TNR program (successes and objectives) for our local no-kill rescue group for a grant application but am a few months away from completing it. Older members of the group have actually kept detailed spreadsheets on their statistics over the years that I'm trying to compile to paint the story for them.
