I'm going away for ten days in December, at which point the girls will be 13 weeks old. I just want to make sure I'm not overlooking anything, so here's my plans:

- landlords (who are huge animal lovers and live right upstairs with five pets of their own) will be looking after the girls for me while I am away.

- I'm leaving detailed feeding/water/litter instructions for them as well as emergency contact numbers (two. My mum, and my best friend) and my vet's number

- will leave plenty of food and litter so nothing gets run out of

- going to give the girls a couple of new toys before I go and make sure all their bedding is fluffed up for them

- going to put away everything they could get hurt playing with/wreck.

- leaving a gift card for the landlords as thanks ;)

am I forgetting or overlooking anything? They will get played with tons, and they get along with all five upstairs pets so frequently everyone convenes in my apartment and all hell breaks loose with the playing haha. They don't sleep with me at night yet so they won't miss the overnight company.

I'm sure they are going to be fine but it's my first time leaving them so I'm being a worried mama.

(I won't be reachable by cell phone, though once I have it I'll be able to leave the resort phone number as well. Not sure how that works as I've never gone on vacay and had to worry about pets before).

Here are the girls:

Sounds like you are on top of things.   It's great that you do have someone right in the building to look after them.   How often will them be checking? Hopefully   they will be able to check every day and give them their  food for the day,  make sure they have water,  scoop the litter box.

( If it's not every day,  one thing I would suggest is multiple bowls of water,  including one that is very heavy and hard to turn over. )

They are super cute kittens!

Hope you will have a great trip.

Thank you!! I think/hope (we haven't discussed all the details yet) they'll check at least once a day. They're on free-feed dry kibble right now so they just need to be topped up. They drink a TON of water, so extra water bowls is a good idea. They have two and drink almost all the water in them in 12hrs or so, give and take, so I may double their bowls, good thought, thank you!

I'm also going to grab two more litter pans so that if they don't/can't scoop the litter EVERY day (which I'd like) then it won't be the end of the world.

and thanks! I think they're pretty cute but I'm biased ;)
